Rocco joining the Transfer Portal

That's a dumb tweet. He should have stopped at the first part.
Chris got way too close to the coaching staff. For gods sake he was bawling when Campbell left. I’m not saying that as a knock on him, he was friends with a lot of these people, but that’s made him biased and unable to see the faults that Campbell and his staff had. Taylor Mouser was not a good OC. He may end up being a good head coach someday, but the people that wanted him to take over the program were people who had rose colored glasses on for Campbell and his staff like Chris Williams. The people who claim he will make a great head coach someday, are also those same people too.

Already cringe to see people conflating Campbell with their dads; the wife analogy is something else entirely. Super cringe?

100% agree. I hope he becomes a great head coach someday. But to act as though he was anywhere close to qualified for this head coaching job right now is nuts and makes me question their credibility.

The word was Rocco was making 1.5m

Kinda feel like unless you were going to get everyone to come back (they weren’t), there’s no way to spend that much again for a senior QB. So, maybe this will be best for everyone. Rocco can go get paid and we can start the reload without that sunk money in a season where winning a title isn’t likely.

I think CW has a big heart and is a good guy, but you have to separate relationships from your business. It comes off as clingy and weird IMO.
This is where everything gets complicated. If you're truly a "journalist", I would agree. But I don't think this is straight-up journalism these guys are playing in.

Also, do people want access insider info or journalism? Developing friendships get you access. If I want journalism, I'd subscribe to the DMR.

Well yeah. I think most would expect them be mouthpieces for the athletic department. But instead they’re supporting the outgoing coach against that athletic department?

This is where the emotion comes into play.

Journalists should follow facts and what is known at the time. The roller coaster of "reporting" we witnessed was clearly an emotional one.

Again, I'm not saying this is right or wrong. People just need to see this all for what it really is.

I get pissed when Iowa doesn’t beat those sick f’s.

I NEVER get upset by an Iowa loss.
Yeah that’s a tough one but at least Iowa dodges most teams with a pulse frequently. They have allegedly solved their racism twice.

Penn State got their vacated wins for pedophilia back. Notre Dame lost their wins for not expelling the students in their “tutor” scandal and never got them back. I guess not kicking them out of school for cheating academically is viewed as a worse crime by the NCAA then willfully ignoring evidence of child rape on your campus.

IMO Campbell realized after losing 4 in a row, including a loss to Colorado, that another offer from a blue blood might not ever come. So when Penn State was left with their 6th choice as HC of Campbell he took the offer. People were saying Campbell was out of gas. And it had to be frustrating watching his old assistant Golesh land the Auburn HC job.

But what’s a journalist these days? Are CF reporters considered journalists? I don’t really consider them as such. Hell, most of the people on ESPN don’t really qualify as journalists anymore. CW and the CF staff are fans. To expect anything different is going to end in disappointment.

Seems Pablo Torre may be the only true sports related journalist left. Everyone else has sold out for access. And that’ll continue because we’ve made the coaches, the AD’s, and the agents so powerful they don’t need to answer questions they don’t want to.

Campbell got the sloppy sixths.
