CFB is not the nfl. Saying that the NFL has games on streaming doesn’t make it the right play for other sports/leagues to show off their premier product. No one stoped those groups from bidding either and the PAC died in part because they didn’t want to only do streaming.

If you are going to come on Cyclone Fanatic and insinuate that one of the longest serving, most respected athletic directors in the country who essentially built our whole AD from the ground up is just being paranoid, expect pushback.
You consistently defend the not only the Big Ten’s actions but the intent behind their actions. It has always made intuitive sense that Big Ten and SEC and all of their member schools would like to see the de facto relegation of peer schools who would be viewed as competition. Everyone knows the Big Ten and SEC have a ton of leverage, and you are willfully ignorant if you don’t believe they are utilizing it.

As previously posted multiple times and you and others ignore, nobody outside of Fox and ESPN bid on the CFP because they don't have P4 regular season content. See NFL on how regular season and playoff bidding is supposed to work. ESPN and Fox obviously don't want that.
PAC died primarily because of Fox/B10 manipulation (which you continue to be in denial of) and because only streamers made any type of quality bid and even that bid from Apple (without CFP access) was low.

Obviously significantly more so capital projects wouldn't have to be cancelled. I am assuming the expected number was derived from prior CFP sharing %'s but SEC/ESPN and B10/Fox bullying along with the lowball ESPN single CFP bid hosed things up for ISU.
Honest question, how much of it do you think is CFP sharing vs the lawsuit he also mentions. Obv neither helps as it’s additional expenses and less money but just curious your thoughts.

When the 12 team playoff was originally announced reports were that each of the 64ish P5 teams would equally split the money. But then last summer the final agreement was Big10/SEC would each get 29% vs. the Big12 split of 15% (ACC got 17%).
The NYT reported that Big10/SEC schools would get a base payment of $21M annually while Big12 schools would get $12M annually. Like others have mentioned, $4-$5M of lost annual revenue is a kick in the cojones for Big12 schools. It's a rounding error for Big10/SEC schools after signing their recent conference TV deals.
Sorry but equally splitting the money makes zero sense and would be completely unfair. The only reason ESPN bid whatever it was, $6.8 billion, was because of the SEC and B1G. Just the truth.
CBS and NBC deals with B10 are sublicensed from Fox who has 100% control of B10 rights. And NBC having only ND home games isn't enough regular season lead in to justify significant bidding on the CFP.
And the NFL and CFB have no reason to be different relative to rights aggregation and bidding processes. CFB leaves millions on the table because of the ESPN/Fox duopoly.
While I can agree to disagree on the second paragraph I forgot about the first part. Good call there.
It makes sense in a league that wants fair competition.
Yeah, it is also truth that the total revenue pie was lower than it should have been because of ESPN being the sole bidder, thus the resulting and intensified bullying from the SEC and B10 on unequal revenue sharing of that reduced pie.

It was never going to be an equal split no matter what size the pie was. And do you have a link or anything that reports that FOX wasn't allowed to bid?
Fox said they were going all in on a CFP bid. Two months later, they don't even bid.
That is some high quality duopoly behavior.
Good luck successfully arguing that this minority bloc (in terms of constituent voters) has been destroyed while making more than ever before, with schools having the best access to top college football postseason
It sucks for us, but the consolidation of big brands adds value to the collective worth of CFB by making the sport more national, facilitating more big ratings, and better product identification.
Going back to very regional 8 or 10 team conferences lowers the total TV revenue when most of the nation DGAF about the legacy PAC, Big 8, SWC , Big East, and ACC conferences.
We saw what happened when the PAC 10 went to market. There is no white knight media provider coming to save the old era. It has nothing to do with CFP rights, either. Stop propagating that misinformation.
No media company stepped up to create a 3rd conference that was a peer to to P2 out of ACC, Big 12, and PAC. Yet, you think they’re going to want in the rump version of these conferences?
