I don't think ESPN wants to increase the size of the ACC either. That would bring the TV contract back to negotiation. So can the ACC be a P3 with the members they have? I personally don't think so.

So I think we end up with a P4 scenario until the ACC contract is up in 10 years from now. It'll be in reality P2 + P2 lite, but the Big12/PAC and the ACC will still have a seat at the table even if it'll be a kids seat.
I would encourage you to read some of WhoIsThis’s posts about the ACC being the best of Tier 2 and the third P3. It’s been laid out a ton as to ESPN’s likely move in regards to the ACC.

And yes it likely won’t happen now, which is why I put that in there that it would be crazy and likely doesn’t fit their agenda yet since the ACC is a sweet deal for ESPN as is.

Fun to read other conferences ideas lol
I actually think something close to this is the eventual end to all of it. And the left behind b1g and sec teams will be in it too.
Thats why id like to see Yormark take control so big12 is leading the 2nd Tier and can shape it as it happens.

Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to not be on ESPN+ for the 4th game in a row...

From the same site, an article very skeptical it will come to anything: Oklahoma State Joining a Different Conference?
That is the funny and sad aspect of realignment. There could be some truth that OSU is shopping itself. The reality is their AD should be fired if he isn't!!!

But for every online article that says one thing, another article can logically explain why it's not happening.

I am getting realignment burnout. Can't wait for Sep1 & real games.

Agreed on the burnout, wake me up when something actually happens. I am not reading every stupid rumor on the interwebs.

Knew people from Midwest who had a son graduate from AR that couldn't understand why he couldn't get a job up north. Had to settle for Walmart. Not uncommon
While there is subtle prejudice everywhere, a graduate of the University of Arkansas shouldn't have trouble finding a suitable job in an entire region because of where he went to school. There is not that much difference between the Major State Universites. I've lived in 10 states and never had an issue adjusting.

As it is, my first out of state job after I graduated from Iowa State was in California. I was hired by a U of Pacific grad and worked mostly with a group with UC-Berkeley, UC-Davis and other assorted California School grads. I was the total outlier on my team, but I hung in there. Just glad we didn't have any pop quizzes!

SEC and B1G have their choice of any schools they want, except Notre Dame. B1G has the leg up on the SEC. Addition of USC was a game changer.

No one in their right mind wants to join with the PAC. They have lost their flagship schools. And have not been in the CFP conversation for a while now. Noticeably absent. ACC deal sucks. And who wants to join Boston College, Wake Forest and Syracuse. Because when the SEC and B1G get done those will be your new partners. Reality.

I have memberships at several including Ancestry and myheritage and FamilyTreeDNA. I have done extensive DNA tests and have traced several lines to before the 1400s. I currently have over 20,000 people in my family tree on Ancestry. I have seen some interesting things through history, including some wills from the south before the Civil war that just make your jaw drop.

I have 1 line traced back to Ipswitch, Mass in the early 1600s thru the Salem witch trial days. Ive seen where my 2nd Great Grandfather lost his wife and 4 young kids to consumption/TB in the Mid 1800s in Denmark, and was able to remarry and start a new family, to which I descended.

I have a couple lines that link me to the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. Plan on getting a membership to the Sons of the American Revolution.

I love history, I love genealogy, it all fascinates me, especially when you get to the fine details of some of it.
I found out my wife and I were 6th cousins once removed. We grew up 3 hours away from each other, so it wasn’t a case of being related to everyone in the same small town.

You know that's not the worst idea I've seen. Would suck to not be with the other b12, but compared to what could have been last year (MAC) this isn't the worst
ISU would have landed in the MWC or the AAC, not the MAC. There is a HUGE difference. FWIW, I've seen every MAC school in person including games @ Miami (OH), @ Toledo, @ Ohio Univ. and @ Ball State. There is no way on God's green earth, ISU would EVER drop that far. Just sayin'. :)

In 1860, Iowa had a population of 674,913 men, women and children, living in 124,098 households. Of this number, 116,000 men were eligible for military service.

Iowa sent roughly 73,150 men to fight, 11% of our total population, more per capita than any other state. Over the next four years 13,169, or one out of six, would die in the war.

Per the Iowa Sons of Union Veteran's of the Civil War web site https://www.iowasuvcw.org/

I've moved around a lot, and people usually don't think much of Iowa. When I was in New York I only found one person who could correctly identify the state on a blank US map. We have a lot to be proud of, and this is one of my favorite facts to cite. Probably #3 after the Atanasoff-Berry Computer and our work with the Manhattan project.
Although not as impactful, the red delicious apple can trace its origin to East Peru, Iowa. It was originally called the Hawkeye apple until the rights were purchased by someone out of state who changed the name for marketing reasons. If you go to East Peru, there's a field that has an apple tree from the original hybrid. The original apple is smaller and isn't as red but crispy and delicious. Be sure to check it out.

He is advocating the Big 12 picking Stanford and California as they are in the Bay area. The Bay area has tons of people but little college sports interest. Fan attendance is lousy too. If that is what it takes to close the deal on the Pac, let's add them though.

So, how is he ill informed or been blindsided?

He’s totally correct. If Cal and Stanford were receptive to joining Big 12 with mountain 4 and UW/Oregon, we would have no issues. 6 may be more ideal, but you’re potentially just adding Cal that you didn’t really want (Stanford will go with ND)

The issue has been cal and Stanford don’t want it. And at that point it would be tough to exclude Oregon St and WSU. Schools will **** conference members if chasing large revenue increases, but not leaving out just 2 long time members for $5-$10 million

Sorry if this has already been posted, but not surprised: Oklahoma State in talks with SEC. The apple doesn't drop too far from the tree.

This, if true, would be a brilliant proactive countermove by ESPN.
I wouldn’t say brilliant, nearly more like checkmated by schools in R8.

Not moving 1-2 more from Big 12 has long been the flaw by ESPN, offering the laughable American.

They allowed Big 12 R8 to stabilize and say a P2 offer, or we’re and immovable block of 8, now 12. To move Ok St to SEC is the ESPN being forced into what they didn’t want, and overpaying for Ok St.

It would also reinforce that the R7/Big11 must be “P2 or immovable block”, as it works.

Also not brilliant because they are overpaying just to cut Iowa St and KSU instead of BC and Wake. ESPN moving Ok St to SEC when they could instead just make Big 12 base of P3 (instead of ACC) by adding Pac6, or Pac8 to Big 12, then use Big 18 or 20 as an attractive place to move ACC leftovers in the liquidation of ACC. It makes little sense to add Ok St to SEC to try and avoid that, just so you later cull Big 12 schools that pull better ratings than bottom ACC.

If the Big 12 were to unravel, it could mean 4-6 Big 12 go to Pac10 with Fox, which would be a small disaster for ESPN. The ACC solution becomes much harder, and now they can’t control the low value but pivotal swing vote of the 3 in P3 setup

We're ISU.... so most likely Okie St will go to the SEC, and the PAC and ACC will merge.... and once again we'll be screwed.
