If this is accurate - and Arizona has officially “applied” - then it’s a dove deal. B12 already voted to take Arizona if they want to come.

The ABOR still needs to sign off… and that’s how Crow and ASU are holding up the process. And that’s why people who keep insisting “take AZ and stop at 14… **** ASU” are being extremely shortsighted. Granted, if Crow insists keeping ASU in a dead PAC X, can’t help the stupid. But taking AZ and ASU as a package has always been the least dramatic option.

I think adding OrWa is smart by the B1G from a geography standpoint, especially for the sports that aren't football and basketball.
Also shows how dumb conference realignment has gotten. Big 10 especially going manifest destiny over there...

And at what point will people just drop the pretend history and change their names? The days of 10/12/XII meaning anything are gone

This map is such a ******* joke. **** the B1G.
Joel Klatt was on The Herd the other day and said the NCAA needs to go away, and I agree.

From there, they need to hire a commissioner and treat this level of sport as an league/association. It's not amateur anymore. Then make tv deal payouts equal and realign the conferences by geography.

Something needs to change.

Nope. Sorry but they are screwed. Just like Iowa State and K state would have been had the PAC decimated the Big 12 years ago
Everything was so different then. We were much worse at football. Was there any chance at all that the B1G would’ve taken us at a partial share?

Never forget the true genius in this whole thing: BY literally forced the Big 10’s hand and made them take ORWA now when they didn’t necessarily want to. And by doing so BEFORE addressing trams 15 and 16, he retains power over the situation. He honestly couldn’t have played this any better.

It would be funny to get Utah and ASU on reduced shares but it doesn’t do anything for Iowa State. We get paid the same either way. It would be a slight competitive advantage over them in order to save ESPN and FOX a little money. I don’t care other than to just give them a middle finger. Probably not worth it.

If we were divvying up a pot of money, and giving them less meant we got more, that would be different.
I understand it differently. Tv is required to pay full price for new members from a power conference. If you pay them partial share you’re splitting the remainder.
