We only lived there 4 years, which was 4 years too long. Mr. Birdy is Birdy and Birdy is Birdy. He ghost reads but very very rarely posts (under my name).

I'm assuming the baking things are you.

So, am i talking to you or him when chatting softball and such??????

I guess it is a cost benefit analysis to me. If the rough estimate of $100/hr in that thread is true I would guess It would take at least an hour or two at both ends plus say an hour of transit time. That's already $500 alone and I would guess that estimate is on the low end.

I can rent a truck for roughly $100. Throw in maybe another $100 of pizza and drinks and I am saving $300. Seems worth it to me but I come from several generations of cheapskates.

I honestly had never seen or heard of people using movers for local moves and really only ever heard of professional movers being used when it was cross country usually being paid for by an employer. Then again I have been accused of living under a rock before.

It kind of depends on how old you are. As long as your willing to do the labor it's fine. When you expect someone else to do the labor not so much. Last move I got roped into were friends of my folks I got screwed on that one, pizza ranch 6 wks later sure as hell didn't make up for me doing all the work that I did that freakin day.

I think I've asked this before, but does anyone else get annoyed that Culvers doesn't have cup trays available for to-go orders, rather you have to ask for one from behind the counter? Just seems like it's not that hard to have a stack of them out by the drink machine.

Same with spoons and forks.

Ok, ran into an environmentally friendly situation that may be good for the environment but bad for people. Ran into a fast food joint the other day and needed to use the restroom. Washed my hands, dried them at the hand drier, looked for the paper towels to do the final pat down and open the door with and.......no paper towels. I had long sleeves, so I pulled my arm in and used my shirt as a barrier for my clean hand and most likely dirty door handle. Come summer time, I will have short sleeves and do not want to use the front of my shirt and make it appear I'm humping the door as I shimmy around.

Restrooms need paper towels or automatic doors.

They have good root beer.
Thank goodness you can pump your ketchup there too....not the packet stuff.
Have you tried screaming at the help and telling them that you are outraged?

I've held in check pretty well but man, sometimes I'm just standing there with two drinks and it's every one else's 1st world, and I'm just living in it.

Just wondering. I’m not concerned like Pants because I’ve never hit on anybody in here but just making sure who I was talking to.

I mean, she said she’s the one that always posts and he just lurks, so I wasn’t really concerned about it. You see, BC, the key to women is to actually pay attention to what they say.

Being married, there is only one woman that I truly need to pay attention to what she says. The rest, it’s pretty optional. Just like I kinda pick and chose when I want to pay attention to males also.

In my Uber to Maui. Now comes the long ass flight to LAX and then to Hawaii plus the worry of "what did I forget to pack?" Or my personal favorite "did I lock the door?"

Don't forget "Did I shut off the stove?"
I haven't used my stove since we lost power like a month ago. I actually haven't "unlocked" it to be able to turn on anyway. So I'm not too worried about that one. The biggest ones for me are the AC and locking the door for sure.

LAX to Hawaii is the worst. Like 5 1/2 hours and all there is to look at outside is ocean. And as much as I can sleep on a plane, I can’t do it for that long.

I've loaded up a bunch of Netflix shows, podcasts, and brought two books. Plus the plane has a seat back entertainment system. I'm not too worried but I've done long over the ocean flights (like LAX to Australia) and it gets rough around hour 3-4.
