Yes, pants, ndubs and I have met!

So you Iowans are getting all this rain now too?

Survives trip. Took over 3 houra with stops and traffic on the way. Car has sun shades in it so that is nice. I sat with kiddo and he never slept more than 25 minutes a time before waking crying cause he no love car seat. Did well once there though. So I decide I'll drive home since I won't sleep anyway if he's up that often.

He slept pretty much the entire way. Took us two houra, no stops. I'm a touch bitter. But now he just slept 4 hours, 45 minutes!!!

Just got back from the game. Obviously disappointed that the game was cancelled but I still had fun. Probably one of those games I'll always remember. A couple observations:

Students (probably more like drunk students) are incredibly creative when it comes to passing time. Someone started throwing a frisbee around and it evolved into a student-section-wide game. It was all fun and games until someone threw the frisbee on the field one too many times and they stopped giving it back. Then the cheerleaders threw out T-shirts and gave a student the box when it was empty. The box was used like a volleyball and made it all they way into the upper deck. Many kudos to all of the personnel on the field; ISU PD, the security team, photographers, etc. for being good sports with the students' shenanigans.

They changed the student ticket process this year so your tickets aren't automatically loaded onto your ISU ID. You have to bring up the webpage with the barcode for your ticket so they can scan it or have it already printed out. I got to the stadium and the cell reception was so bad I couldn't get my ticket to load. I had to stand by the bus stop in the middle of the tailgate lots so I could connect to the wifi, go to the webpage, and screenshot the barcode so I could get into the game. There were a ton of students having to step out of line because they couldn't load their tickets and I wonder how many didn't make it in at all. I'm not sure what was wrong with having your tickets on your ID but if they are really going to stick with this barcode deal they need to do something about the terrible cell reception at the stadium.

That stinks about the web page ticket. While we were tailgating hubby could not get any website up on his phone with Verizon, my sister also said she can never get any service at games. He was hanging out in Sukup during the delay and wished he could have gotten a WiFi password. ;) Finally about 9:15p enough people had left and he was able to pull up CF on his phone in there. I didn’t have as many issues because I have US Cellular.

Hubby said they serve Clone Cones in Sukup now.

The student section was entertaining to watch. We went and talked with my sister on the NW hillside for awhile while we waited and they were having fun. At one time they wanted music played over the stadium sound system. When that request wasn’t met, they chanted for the marching band. They were holed up in Bergstrom.

I wasn’t in Sukup, only hubby was. But I probably walked by you when we ventured out of our bathroom where we kept dry to walk to the NW hillside and back. There was one spot I walked by and saw a Mom sitting with an itty bitty baby and thought that did not look fun. We also walked by kids who were playing on tablets while waiting. Then there was my almost 6yr old nephew who was passing the time by catching crickets on the hillside and putting them in an empty water bottle. He was also playing around in the muddy grass—the JCC free T-shirt’s this year were white. His shirt will no longer be white after last night.

They are very white. We still sign the youngest up for it. With four tickets, all five only make 1-2 games a year, so we have one person sit completely on our furthest in seat and then the rest pack in. the fifth usually gets about 80% of a seat. Many of the people in our row will do this, so at times we may have 25 people in a 19 person row. Nobody complains since each group does it at sometime.

You might have seen the lady that was standing next to me for a bit. Kid looked a month or two old at best. Then the lady on the other side of me was ready to deliver any minute. Could tell the baby had dropped and everything. We always go in by the cinnamon roasted almonds stand.

Back when we only had 2-3 kids we used to go to every home game. We had our own parking pass and just sat on the hillside. Now we have to fight for a parking pass and tickets, even though the kids all have hillside passes. Last night I loaned out all our passes to a friend, and the one kid of ours who did go used an actual ticket.

Woke up this morning with sore legs, and my right foot paticularly sore. I think I just figured it out. I believe the cruise went out on my 12 yo car, which was discovered on my way up to IC. My right foot and legs aren't used to having to continuously be using the accelerator.

Won't be driving the car any further than Ames, but that wasn't the funnest yesterday...especially with the storm last night.
