My biological mother miscarried twice between my brother and myself.

I don't talk to her anymore but my sister miscarried 3 times before she had a child who ended up passing away from SIDS 7 days after birth. Another miscarriage between that and the birth of her son who should be 9 or 10 about now. I don't know how she kept trying to be honest.

Miscarriages are a legit thing that need to be talked about more but it's pretty taboo in our culture. It's not the mothers fault, **** just happens.

In not sure if my genes matter that much but I am concerned for my future wife because of my family history regarding it.

That is pretty heartbreaking. I don’t really know if there is any genetic link, but they say 15-20 percent of known pregnancies result in miscarriage and actual numbers maybe higher since they occur before mother is aware of pregnancy.

My mom and brother’s wife helped me a lot through mine. Then that particular SIL found out her daughter had a miscarriage which only her husband knew about until she successfully carried next pregnancy to term. We were both so sad we weren’t able to try and help her at the time.

In my own case, the day after d&c, I had to go into work on a weekend with some rush project boss assigned to me because in his ultimate wisdom, it would take my mind off it. Worked on it over 22 hours that Saturday and Sunday when all I wanted to do was hold my toddler, hug my husband, and eat copious amounts of chocolate.

Our culture hits us with ED info 24/7 but breaking the silence about miscarriage is still taboo and many suffer depression alone.

In the world of second guessing, I'm noticing that the available DMACC classes, if they are available, are morning classes.
That would be a pretty big conflict with the advising job.

Oh,well. We'll see what happens.
No matter what, I'm going to prepare a portfolio of courses within my specialty and maybe a little outside of it, too. If a surprise course requirement comes up like the one from Monday, I can just pull that out and refine things instead of starting from scratch.

To continue this baby talk...A good friend of ours went into delivery early while they were moving to a new house and her husband was out of town. Guess who is out of town again and who is getting a ride as we speak from MrsWx to the hospital?!?! Twins this time.

At least you aren’t hunting down the daddy in a dive bar cause he can’t handle charging his phone even with very preggo wife.

Totally a first world problem but...

The LAX Virgin Atlantic lounge was out of water (what?) so no food alcohol or anything else. Just a place to sit.

They gave me a food voucher for the food court but come on. To make matters worse the Delta lounge was full by fire code rules do I would've had to wait.

Disappointed

Life is rough for a full time road warrior;). I thought you were headed to London how did you end up in LA?

What does being out of water even mean....
I'm not sure but you can look up the LAX Virgin Club house and it's a common issue. None of the rest of the terminal has this issue so maybe they're just joshing me and others. But I only had 40min to board and I needed some lunch

@cowgirl836 Have you ever made peanut butter popcorn? You make the Scotcheroo base but put it on popcorn instead of rice crispies. I actually halved the mixture (1/2c each) and was able to put that over 2 bags of microwave popcorn.

Taking in a little bit of fair food. Yesterday I wanted fried pickles and picked the wrong stand. They used like the corn dog batter on them. Yuck. :( May have to do different fried pickles tomorrow. They are all spears, though--like fried picked slices better. Also did funnel fingers and split with 3 girls--instead of a funnel cake shape they just make like long fries with the batter.

Which is better?

Waffle cone or regular cone?

Regular IS waffle to me so I'm assuming you mean sugar cones lime from DQ or something.

Honestly, I like the sugar cones just for the size. I'm not a big cone guy in the first place and will lean towards a bowl or cup but if I must, probably sugar unless they have those small waffle cones

That popcorn idea sounds similar to a gourmet popcorn place near where i grew up. They did a few sweet ones like that. Sooooo good. I should do that.

I don’t like waffle cones cause too big, too sweet, and distracts from taste of ice cream.

@Cybirdy that popcorneroo concoction sounds great, husband loves popcorn and adds salt and butter to all that sugar.
