Solid choices. You could have also gone with the sex cruise a few years ago.

However, if we're going to rehash painful Viking criminal moments that are non Super Bowl related, I've got the ultimate trump card:

That trade was a felony.
How could I have neglected the Love Boat? Anytime you fly in dancers(?) from Atlanta, your intelligence, wisdom and sanity should most certainly be questioned.

As for the Walker trade... too soon. Same with Drew Pearson's push off.

Def Leppard's "Hysteria" album was released 30 years ago today. It's one of those rare works that I can listen to all the way through and not want to skip a single track. Billboard.com has a good article on the history of "Hysteria" and how it came together in spite of years of setbacks.

We took our niece shopping for her birthday a few months ago. I don't remember which store we were in, but a bunch of the mannequins were sporting the layered look with Def Leppard graphic tees underneath. There were at least 5 or 6. I did a very slow and deliberate turn and made sure I knew where my exits were in case things got weird.

The smartest thing I did when I moved here a zillion years ago was to not become a Viking fan. It's way more fun to sit back and watch and mock them. All good fun until the Cory Stringer death which just made me so angry that I wish nothing but the worst for their organization till the end of time.

....and there's the apology E-mail

E-road rage: don't drive down the internet highways angry
You are going to have to get wall for these...

My husband is still mad about that pushoff, and he may not had been born yet when it happened.

BTW, I really question the city of Ames' timing on tearing up Fourth St from Duff to the westside of that HyVee with not just classes starting but also football season.

A school I applied at (too late) offered a course in Viking history. I told a section here about reading a course catalog with that class, and noted that it was always a fall semester class, because, you see, Viking history always ends before the playoffs.

This is phase two. They've already done University to HyVee. It has been a pain around here this summer. As always. South Duff is a freakin' nightmare at all hours of the day.

And don't forget the work on the ramps at the I-35 to Hwy 30 interchange...

I have never been asked to take a drug test. Ever.

You could drug test me 365 days a yr with no problem. At one job I was at they wanted to start testing only the hourly employees and I was fairly vocal about if your doing that you should test management also. I was one of the 1st "randomly" chosen once the policy was implemented. It didn't matter to me, but I really doubted the randomness of that. The plant managers son was one of the biggest pot heads around, but he never got checked.

Oh yeah and we finally got some rain. Had 4 tenths all of July, and have picked up close to an inch in Aug. already. @carvers4math did you finally get some rain?

Son watching preseason football. First I'm surprised it's August already. Second, rico gathers catches a touchdown, I wonder, where have I seen him play before. Yeah, that's right, Baylor basketball.
