Yep, also had hay fever as a kid. I have tried different stuff, currently take Zyrtec (cheap Walmart version) and nothing else. I think that only knocks it down by about a third. I was also using Flonase too but that gave me terrible headaches and made me dizzy. Husband thought maybe dosing they said on label was too high for me. It did help the allergies but the side effects were worse.

Sister uses a neti pot but something about those gross me out.

Every female friend around my age developed the same problem around age 30. Weird. And mine have kicked into high gear the last week or so.

That is so weird! It's not bad enough that I feel the need to treat it........yet, but it's good to know that's likely what it is. I kind of suspected it was allergies as it would sort of wax and wane and now Saturday we had the house open and outside a lot and it got worse. Maybe running a humidifier at night will help.

I miss the days were getting older meant you got a new and cool privilege, like voting or drinking. This one is a poopy gift.

When we moved in, the master bedroom looked like a Miami Vice set. Teal carpet, floral lampshades, matching floral curtains, matching floral border. The lampshades and curtains were gone within 2 days, but that border and carpet haunted us for awhile
So you didn't wear pastel colored suits and Don Johnson-esque stubble?

so coughy tickly throat that's lasted all month, much post-nasal drip, and coughing/stuffiness at night - cancer or do I now have seasonal allergies?

It's either allergies or you're in heat

No worries. Your AARP membership is just around the corner.

FYI CG, had first child at 29 years, 2 months. Bounced back from that one better than the one I at at 40.

ha, well I don't think I'm having a baby by tomorrow! I'm surprised that was your starting age though. Always assumed you started earlier.

Nope, just spent a decade either pregnant or nursing. Hence the doctor freaking about my osteoporosis possibilities and my weight.

MrsWx was 24. We know people who are maybe 30 or 31 and have been married for 9 years I believe. They have 7 kids.

Before the first of the three-in-a-row allergy incidents, I signed up for October's DSM Marathon, since I was having amazing aerobic growth.

Dialed it down to the half this morning after missing a few months of good training. I must say that I'm really tired of my own goals and health being affected by other people that could know better.

Neither. Kids in it. Oldest is considered a lock for one when he steps in. Been in 12 with 11 catches. $50 to catch. Kid sat it out, not sure what got in to him. Then they do a couples one also where you can get $100 per couple. He's walked away with $100 from this for about 5 minutes of work.

Heard no banjos in the south so I felt safe.
As a kid I won a greased pig contest. The prize? Got to keep the pig. I ended up raising her for a while and then we ate her.

No regrets, but cash would have been a lot less work.

I'll take "Things that sound dirty but aren't" for a thousand, Alex.

I made some grilled bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers wrapped this past weekend. I used some of my own jalapenos and, apparently, I planted a slightly hotter variety than last year. My first bite had my eyes watering. I still ate 3 total because they were awesome.

My daughter wanted to try one so I told her she could have a bite of mine. I warned her that they were hot and I was expecting her to take a small nibble.

Nope.

Full-on takin'-a-bite-out-of-a-hotdog sized bite. She tried to play it off and be cool, but tears were running down her face. Then she chugged her glass of milk.

After a few deep breaths, she took another bite, thus proving she's my child.

I saw a thing on facebook the other day where you slice a hot dog in half, put cheese between the two halves. Next you cut off the ends of a couple of jalapenos, core them and slide those over the hotdog and grill it. It was a lot more work than that stupid video made it look like.

I don't remember being in a greased pig, but was in a chicken catch. Think it was a bicentennial event. Got to keep that thing. Not real fun when your friends are playing games and you have a stinking mad chicken you are holding on to. Would have been 5 at the time.

I watch a lot of those food prep videos, too. Everything looks fairly easy. Then I eventually realize that about 99% of the time I'm prepping food for three total people that don't really care how it looks as long as it tastes good.
