Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

I think I was slightly off on my calculations on going from the Earth to the Sun. I said 6 years, but it actually takes 6.5 years to get to Mercury. Then again, that is an estimate for landing on a moving planet. Doing a fly-by (or in the case of the Sun, crashing right into it) might take less than a year to get there.

Okay, I'll just ignore the beeping noise.

Had this happen when I loaded delivery trucks for UPS. A teammate of mine and I were kidding our supervisor that, if we heard a ticking package, we were gone.

Minutes later, we heard a buzzing one coming down the line, but whatever it was was totally buried in the massive pile of packages headed for West Des Moines. It kept going, we kind of kept joking, kind of got ready to run.
The supervisor was a good guy. He hung in there with us, kind of concerned, too. As it got closer and louder, it turned out that an electric razor headed for the Remington store at Valley West somehow bumped and switched to "on" while it approached us.

This was really close to 9/11, so people were a lot more concerned with that random buzzing than we would have been a few days or weeks earlier.

It was always interesting when loading or unloading bags on planes and finding one that buzzed...

That is definitely not the best order. The Serenity movie does not make a lot of sense without the series as context.

Sit down for a weekend and binge watch the whole 14 episode series, then rewatch the movie.

I turned my sci-fi virgin wife into a Firefly fan by getting her to watch it. Definitely worth it.

Plus, Christina Hendricks's jublees.

I really want culvers for dinner. I shouldn't since we're going out this weekend and on vacation next week. I still want it.
