That hurts.
But I'm the same way being on the ground floor. I still usually turn it down to 69 because I'm a child. I also have a fan directly blowing on me.

I should keep my window open just in case 55 and CG plan a sneak attack in the middle of the night for a little ménage trois

still trying to find a nice spring/fall jacket that I can do outside things in and such. Failed finding one last winter. I like Columbia, but the one softshell they seem to have is a terrible fit on me. Tried on a North Face one yesterday and I hate how comfy it was and how nicely it fit. I don't want to be a North Face person.

If the NF fits and is comfy you have found your jacket. Wear it proudly like Joseph and his Coat of Many Colors!

Everyone is turning their heat on, and I'm still running my AC at night.

Because I live on the ground floor, and my window screens are not the greatest, I don't open my windows. I don't want bugs (or WDSM) getting in. I get really hot through the night, so I frequently wake up around 4 am and have to turn the AC down a few degrees.
Our screens are okay for skeeters, but we have obnoxious gnats that pass right through them. My problem is the allergens. Right now I'm dealing with allergy issues at the office so I need filtered air at home. The A/C is on, and I have continuous fan going, but I don't think the cooling function has kicked in for a few days.

I am eagerly anticipating winter as I am my own personal furnace (have been for about 10 years). I used to love the hot weather (summers in Texas get you accustomed to it...) but now I'm happier in the winter. Lew has an electric blanket and a couple of other blankets on his side of the bed; I have just the sheet and bedspread and half the time I throw those over onto him in the middle of the night. :)

I was just told that at the school that my kids go to, have to walk out with their kids at halftime for homecoming. If the kid plays they don't walk out, just the parents. I've never seen this before. Why the **** do they have the parents walk out? Nobody picked us. Many of the traditions at this school reek of adults wanting to relive their glory days. I went to two HSs and neither had the parents walk out. Guess I need to brush up on my Thai since we walk out with the FES.

I suspect you to be correct. Though it's maroon and DH is going to be like do you have a coat that is not maroon? And I will say yes, my yardwork fleece is blue and my "winter" peacoat is gray.

Though it's not very warm so that's kinda on the "need to replace" list. It's great for walking to and from the car into work though.

There were senior nights for all of the sports at our school, with the parents walking out with their kids and being introduced (starters AND bench) before the game/meet. Of course, that was in the 90s...but we did our fair share of escorted our kids. :)

The senior or parents nights yes. My schools did parents night and this one does senior night and parents went out. I just have never seen the parents walk out with the homecoming court.

My AC is still on set to 76. My house has not dropped below 70 yet. Yeah southern exposure!!

I won't turn my heat on until it starts staying near 60 on a regular basis. I will turn the heat on one time soon just to verify it kicks on. Other than that I keep the house at 66 in the winter anyway. There's no reason to turn it on now.

I never heard of homecoming until I moved to the Midwest. I had no idea what anyone was talking about.

My HS does but that is done before the game and the necessary players just quickly step out of warm ups. Or at least they used to. I can give the current update Friday night.

I think at least with the A/C there is some carry over from older groups about the cost/we used to do without it. This had an affect on my parents because my dad is super cheap and my mom grew up on a farm that didn't have indoor plumbing until she was around middle school age and probably never had A/C growing up.

I always gave them crap though because they fought my grandpa (especially after my grandma died) to turn the A/C on. He would just sit in the basement without a shirt on and sometimes without pants just to avoid the A/C.
