tried fish tacos complete with pico de gallo and cabbage slaw, kohlrabi fritters with yogurt-dill sauce. Pretty good though DH doesn't love the fritters.

CSA getting us to try all the new things.

All the road signs along I74 in Indiana were covered by trees. The mile markers were the only way I knew where to go.

May I introduce you to GPS?

My SIL organized her own birthday party today. What I found out...when putting two and two together not only are they living with my in-laws and not buying food unless it was a weird joke my in-laws are also paying for their car insurance.

To complete this random post. I could get used to watching the women on American Ninja Challenge. Knowing that they could all break me with their pinky doesn't bother me.

Making a small pizza and having a Pilsner Urquell.

Having a pizza at 10:00 is not a great get in shape move but I am blaming CG and excusing myself.

A pastor "friend" of ours keeps posting videos of Huckabee on FB and saying "He would have made a great president. Voice of reason." I am tempted to respond with "Clearly the republicans didn't think so or he wouldn't have failed several times running."

Sharing colds is bad. I did get to workout today, but ate free day style. Decided to feed the cold. Blech.

I also had ice cream.

It's a big issue among evangelicals and fundamentalists right now. With a guy like Huckabee, especially, since he was a pastor, many among us just can't admit how fast and loose with any kind of truth he really is.
That and our odd belief that a Republican president will be able to function as some kind of honorable despot, while a Democrat will be a Marxist dictator, while both ideas ignore the whole Constitution thing.

Evangelicals got too close to political power, and now that trumps any sort of faith, more often than not.
There you go. My political-religious soapbox from studying life and history.

This song popped into my head the other day after hearing about whatever the current horrific event was at the time. It was Anne Murray's "A Little Good News" from 1983. It was a number 1 country and top 10 adult contemporary song, winning her a Grammy for Country Female Vocal Performance and the CMA Award for Single of the Year. It was more simplistic in its subject, but it fit the era. I think the message still rings pretty true.

I had NY strip at the wedding reception last night. Only could have better than if it didn't have to be well done.

Since I drove I only had one beer. Was cheap and took the free domestic beer although was really tempted when I saw Guinness in the ice tray. Glad my daughter didn't go, don't want to think this is normal wedding type food and drink.

You could always blame it on CG
