Hyvee opens in five days, they will have all the meat I need.

which is a lot
Where's the Hy-vee opening by you?

Velo - Does the one by you open soon?

I was recently talking to a friend that grew up in Winona. His wife didn't understand why he was so excited for a new grocery store. His reply, "You don't understand. There's a helpful smile in every aisle". This made me laugh being that I was one of the helpful smiles for 6 years of my life.

This one was right up your alley. Meat and craft beer. An awful lot of meat raffles occur at VFW's and American Legions. This one happened to be at a microbrewery so that was a bonus. Incidentally, I was impressed with the quality of the beer. Even my wife's blueberry cream ale was pretty good. It wasn't nearly as sweet as most fruity beers.

Was this at 10K brewing? My in-laws live in Ham Lake so I've been a couple times. They've got some decent brew.

That's the one. All the beers had a pretty good flavor. The double IPA was a bit mediocre but I feel like we're kind of spoiled IPA-wise in the Twin Cities with Surly, Indeed, Summit and Bauhaus making top-of-the-line IPA's and other breweries making pretty good ones.

Have you been to Hammer Heart in Lino Lakes? It's a little different but worth the visit.

There are way too many IPA's that really don't taste THAT much different from one another. Or maybe my tastebuds are not sophisticated enough.

The correct response should have been "You don't understand. HY-CHI!!!!"

I keep trying to like IPA's, but I just can't. I've tried about 15 different ones and I just don't have the taste for them. Give me a lager, ale, stout, blonde, hefeweizen, pilsner, bock or saison any day.

Hell, give me one right now.

Seriously, someone bring me a beer.

And another one in about 10 minutes please.

Bad day?

I'm just too boring with my "beer palate". I don't drink a lot of beer (as an older woman, you don't buy beer - you rent it), but when I do I tend to stick with one that I know I like. I'm not fond of cans or tap, so that limits me. If I'm ordering a beer or buying a six, 99% of the time it will be Dos Equis Amber.

Here is a picture of a table holding the meat for a meat raffle.

Is it somewhat disturbing, yes.

One more thing, if you win more than one package of meat the establishment will generally give you a sticker that says "Meat Hog" on it with a cartoon picture of a cute little pink pig.

And this meat sits out at room temperature the whole time?
YIKES!!!

Why do people schedule really important conference calls and then the person that scheduled it calls in from their car so all you hear is road noise and the fact that they can't reference the material because they are driving.

That would **** me off. Pull over and run the meeting.

Those oranges are disturbing. It's a damn meat raffle, not a stinkin' fruit raffle.
