What scares me is not only did someone make an SM picture of minions, but GTO was able to locate it quickly...
I don't think that getting gratification in and of itself taints a good deed....I think it's more if you are looking to get something back from someone else. An example: Every year our church has a fall festival. People donate stuff for a silent auction and raffle. Every year one of the big shots in town donates the use of his suite at Kinnick for one game. Now, I don't know if he asks for it, or if the church just does it...all of the material printed for the event has that this raffle prize was donated by (guy's name). If it were a business using it as a marketing thing, I get it, but it's the guy's name, and his business is not one where marketing to individuals does any good. No other donation is attributed to an individual. Now, granted, this is a very valuable donation, but to me, it seems more about big-shottery than really doing it for the good of the parish. In my case, I think my motives were wrong in the fact that I was 'disappointed' the tip didn't seem as big because the bill was large...the size of the bill was in no way pertinent to the good the money will do for a young man going off to college, but it did go to how generous I looked in his eyes. If it weren't for that, I would have been fine with it, getting gratification from something is OK, it's just if you're doing something only because of that.
First baseball game, at a conference opponent I dislike going to, and big commotion happens. 0-0 game in the 7th inning and with opposing team running off the field a kid collapses just past the first base line. Starts convulsing and seizing. Becomes unresponsive. Ambulance called (awfully slow response time also) and kid is still unresponsive when loaded.
Just found out parents versus kids soccer is rescheduled for tonight. This bites! Kids run the heck out of you and about bust your shins by kicking them.
My boys decided to try parks & rec soccer when they were around 6 & 7...funniest thing I've ever seen. It was like a mobile rugby scrum - this big glop of kids, then the ball would pop out of the middle, and the glop would move & reform around wherever the ball went.
