When I saw them the song The Surrey With The Fringe On Top* (flashback to HS doing that musical) from Oklahoma popped into my head. Sure enough, looked these pedal cars up and they are called Surreys. :)

Biked over to Minnehaha Falls park this afternoon. Got a "Go Cyclones" (was wearing ISU gear) from a group riding a weird pedal car you can rent at Minnehaha. Never seen this before. They were like these things.

Not what you expect on a bike path. Hey, NWICY, 30 miles today, a decent old man ride distance.

Also at mile 13 got a weird "Open your chest WIDE like this...." followed by some mumbling I couldn't make out from some weird long haired hippy lookin' dude riding by with his hands held above his head forming a circle. WTF?

Disney world rents these out.

Decisions, decisions. Just decided to drive to Excelsior to walk around and stop for some lakeside eats and a beer. Now pondering whether this calls for me to shave or not?

@cyrocksmypants @GTO How do you guys watch movies like Zoombies? This **** is redonk
You have to go into it knowing what to expect. Just reading the synopsis should pretty much tell you it is a laugher. Opening credits indicating that it was made by The Asylum will usually confirm that. After that it simply becomes a game of one-upmanship to see if the next scene can top the previous one in terms of ridiculousness. At this point, I'll also come up with a game of:

-identifying the most overused scientific-sounding word.
-finding the worst CGI in the film.
-predicting the order of death of the characters (usually inversely related to acting ability)
-poking enough holes to make a colander out of the heroes plan for survival
-finding that one unbelievable scene that violates all natural laws (character jumping extremely high, Crouching Tiger style, to drop a grenade, push a button, etc)
-laughing at the worst fake military uniforms, weapons, and general portayal of military practices

In all honesty, what I find to be the worst movies are the ones were they actually thought they were making a serious movie and just failed miserably. Movies like Zoombies know exactly what they are and don't try to be anything more than that. That's what makes them enjoyable.

ANY time you see The Asylum as the production company, you need to immediately drop any expectations you previously had for the movie.

busy last few weekends made for busy catchup day today. DH and friends went to a beer fest yesterday so after I dropped them off, I did some shopping. Not entirely successful but got an idea of things to try ordering online. Picked them up, did dinner, DH napped for a while and I did a bit of cross stitch and finished a good book.

So far today, DH got groceries, mowed, weedwacked what I did not, stripped the bed, and started laundry.

I did all the dishes that have been piling up, made some pickles, emptied dishwasher, cut up food for our attempt at corn chowder tonight (squash, corn, carrots, pepper, potatoes), made a blueberry cobbler, did more dishes, deadheaded roses and salvia, weeded everything, push mowed ditches, and then started weedwacking before stopping so I could come in for the indoor US volleyball game. Got the bed mostly back together, last load of laundry in...still hoping to wrap a wedding gift and then cut up the onion and garlic for chowder.

I'm ready for a nap! Feels good to get a lot of this done though. Hoping to convince DH to sweep the floors yet, that really needs to happen too.

We get 15lb of peaches on Tuesday. I'd like to try a peach pie next weekend and definitely some peach crisp (maybe a blueberry/peach version?). But do need to figure out the best way to freeze the bulk of them.

In response to CG's domestic novelette the closest I got to doing anything domestic today was washing beard stubble that was in the sink down the drain.

Does picking up two of my kitchen knifes that Byerly's sharpened count at all?

I think I should volunteer to host and moderate an event here to select Pant's Minnesota wingman. I am far too old for winging (unless he wants me to talk some 30-somethings 60-year old mother, that I can do) and Velo and Clonee are too family.

Went for a ride with a buddy today. We only rode 12 miles so we could meet our families back at my wife's grandparents pool. I also hate to admit that 70 year old man passed us at one point. My best excuse is we were being lazy getting back up to speed.

MLaw is about to get hitched, but I think Tall person is footloose & fancy free...

Starting to realize how lazy people are now a days. My grandparents old house which is nearly 1/3 acre lot most of which is back yard has been sitting for about a month and a half and everyone complains about the yard being too big and too much work. Another one that is near us here on the NE side and is much more updated but again a 1/3 acre lot most of which is back yard (we actually had an offer in on this one last year) has dropped the price by $6k and it is still not moving.

Might just be me but it really was not that much work.

I looked at that one too. But I just don't have the time honestly
