Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

Been putting that off for a while. My hinges that hold the screen to the base have separated the halves of the base. It loses power to the screen if not held together. I had a vice grips holding the left side down. (Tried super glue first - didn't work). Eventually it has dis-en-crinkulated the whole corner. Such that the vice grips doesn't hold anymore. Today I switched out the vice grips I had on there for a larger size.

Not so much that I'm cheap. I just hate going to a new computer.

Looks like a Red Green solution but whar duct tape?

We went in early to mid May and the NE entrance was not yet open. They hadn't repaired any of the damaged guardrails on the E entrance that appeared to have been taken out by a small avalanche and there were still snowy areas in the higher spots in the center of the park. We got snowed on in the Tetons but it was very cool as an adolescent moose rubbed up against our RV as he was grazing right outside.

Most days it was flannel shirt or jacket weather.

I hope you have the senior park membership or whatever it is. I don't know the details but there is a US Park Service membership for seniors that I understand is a heck of a deal.

EDIT: It is a Lifetime pass for $20 if I am reading this right but you have to apply in advance:

Sorry about the bad linkies. Copy and paste into your browser.

Ooooh, got to get one of those. I am way old enough to qualify. Better get the application in. Think I'll skip trying to apply in personal locally, NPS boss here is not a fan of me or my agency.

Edit: USFWS issues that at Minn River Refuge Ctr. Cool. I have no enemies in USFWS. Hell, I should have known about these since we sell them at our rec sites up north. Just forget how old I am sometimes.

So I just saw on Facebook that a couple that I went to high school with created a facebook profile for their unborn child.

Like what the ****... is this a thing now or...?

I could see a private page.... This seems awkward. Hopefully it is only to be a memorial; otherwise I don't understand.

Right mouse button seems to be going bad. Doesn't work every time I click it. Maybe that's why the little light is constantly red.

Even the mice without balls get dusty/dirty inside. It's really easy to pop the cover off and blow the dust off. It becomes a bit more complex when there is cat hair wrapped around everything. But hey, if I can get the cat hair out of a $10 mouse, you should be able to fix yours. :)

Good to know about the mud volcanoes. It could be a good place to take a break on that Hayden Valley road. Where is the Morning Glory Pool? Which Geyser Basin did you like best? We're considering stopping at the West Thumb and Norris basins (Along with the Upper Basin. We do feel that we have to see Old Faithful).

Also, we could conceivably enter through the Northeast entrance and travel through the Lamar Valley. Has anybody traveled through it and have any advice? We have heard it has great wildlife but it is pretty isolated and it will add at least an hour to our travel time to our campground. If we do this, is it worth stopping to see the Tower Waterfall and petrified trees? (This will help us decide is we stay in Miles City or Billings on Saturday.

Late to the party but when I saw the Wyoming Aerial America that looked so cool. I finished off seeing every state's Aerial America program. Learned quite a bit from them.

Forgot about the ESPY's last night. I know for the most part they are a joke but usually you get a great moment or two in terms of a great moving speech i.e. Pat Summitt and Staurt Scott. Just watched Craig Sager's speech from last night. You may need a tissue or two.
