There was a car / pedestrian accident about a half hour ago just two blocks from my house. Looks like the driver was an older lady and the pedestrian looked like a girl likely in 13-16 age range.

I avoided the mow like the plague. Start of summer bales are dropping at you from 15 feet up and the dust was awful. And it's hot and dark.

End of summer you're up in the rafters with the angry hornet's/wasp nests, the bales are piling up faster than you can get them stacked, and it's still hot and dusty.

Agreed. I would rather be on the hay rack in the sun all day rather than in a 110 degree mow that was so dusty you could barely see from one end to the other.

My eyes are starting to water and itch just thinking about this.

All I know is the guy who invented the big round baler should've won the Nobel Peace Prize. My folks farm in southern IA so detasseling wasn't really a thing, but little squares... ohhhhh buddy.

Some more running stuff for 00clone:

I'm currently training for a half marathon and wanted to run 3 miles at race pace. I struggled the entire run and nothing really went right. Definitely categorized as a bad run, but I'm glad to have it early in my training.

Was cleaning out my car trunk because I have all sorts of work stuff in there like banners, yard signs, etc. Threw a banner in the dumpster and some homeless dude jumps into the dumpster, grabs it, puts it on like a cape and wanders off mumbling to himself.

That's my last two months right there.
I'm going out for 2-3 pretty soon tonight. Long as they happen, it's progress.

Just found a deer tick in my kitchen. Lit it on fire. The tick not the kitchen.

Sir 00clone, smoosher of bugs valiantly protected the family tonight. Heard a tap-tap-tap, looked, didn't see anything, went away. Little later, same thing, but I realized it was a pizzed off wasp that had gotten in somehow and was trying to find a way back out. Rushed the wife and kids back to the bedroom and got the swatter. It had settled on a corner of the wall right up by the 10' ceiling. Despite having to jump to reach it and hit it squarely on the corner, one swat, one kill.
