Came home since I got rained out. Safe lite put a new windshield in our beater mini van. Dude vacuumed the floors and washed all the windows. I feel sorry for the guy, it was a pit. It is a traveling storage unit so it doesn't get cleaned much. It is loaded with clothes and equipment and gear for baseball, softball, track, basketball and sometimes some others. This guy deserves a tip.

Why must the Fedex lady make me sign for packages? None of the other delivery people do. Not that I mind, I'd just like to be home when she comes.

I support a couple of wild animal non-profits, most notably one that takes in rescued orphaned black bear cubs and (with minimal human interaction) gives them the opportunity to get big enough to survive in the wild. Their charter is for age 2 or less (cubs are born in the winter and normally stay with their mother until their second spring, at which point they become solitary animals).

Those little critters are so adorable there is a tendency for people to think of them as puppies or kittens. Watch this 6 week old cub getting a bottle...

Those claws make you realize they aren't exactly cuddly...

I just don't get it at work. I tell people something can't be done due to network restrictions and I guess they figure if they ask over and over again somehow those network restrictions will magically go away.

Do you work with 8 year-olds? My daughter is a master at this tactic.

Fun fact, that line is from a movie about a porn star. The Girl Next Door. Great movie. Emile Hursch or whatever his name is, Elisha Cutbbert, Timothy Olyphant, Olivia Wilde.......great movie.

Mr. Lippman made that movie and you know it.

Just headbutted a kitchen cabinet.

So a coworker of mine brings his kid to work just to visit. This kid is 11-months old (only 1 month older than Baby GTO) but already walks, talks, wears regular clothes (separate shirt and shorts, shoes, etc) and just looks and acts like a toddler.

I look at Baby GTO and he still wears onesies or one-piece outfits, no shoes, can't walk (although he does crawl), doesn't talk, doesn't want to eat solid foods, and his face just looks like he is 6 months old. Don't get me wrong, I love that he is still a baby, but he's got a LOT of catching up to do in the next few months.

Don't stress over it, babies progress differently.

Don't worry about it. Which has to be the hardest thing about being a parent - the urge is so strong to constantly compare kid's development stages, but each kid is so different that it's completely meaningless.

I actually think we baby him TOO much. And it's not just us. I think the whole family is constantly holding him and babying him. I almost think he's getting sick of it and trying to be more independent and explore around the house on his own. Yesterday I came up behind him when he was crawling and said something and he just laughed and launched himself into overdrive to get away from me.
