Hiphop, in my unprofessional opinion, it's sounds more to me like she's unhappy in her current relationship and is trying to force you to be uncommitted to your current as possible as a backup plan.

Nah, I just think she's a *****. In fact I know she is.

She doesn't care about anyone else being happy unless it benefits her. In 8 years of marriage I don't think she ever apologized about anything significant. If we go into an argument about something she did I would end up apologizing by the end of the night for bringing it up or the fight would never end.

Hmmm...she sounds just like me. Is she hot? Wanna become Eskimo brothers?

I think in this day and age it's important to know that you can live with someone before you get engaged or married. I'm not very old fashioned.

My ex got married about a month after our divorce was finalized so if she complained to a judge about my GF moving in over a year after our divorce was final then she needs some medication.

I edited my original post - I hadn't read about her living arrangements and timing involved.

And yes, times change. My time was somewhat different from now, but our kids split 50-50 on co-habiting first. My post wasn't intended to be judgmental, and I'm sorry if it came out that way.

you guys, the car girl's husband is a Bears fan. Another Bears' fan in WI, in our very building. I must tell DH. Then DH will tell me I'm a creepy person. Whatevs, he married me and the warranty has long since run out. He's stuck with me.

The new model seems to be working out well....

According to statistics gathered by US Attorney Legal Services, living together before getting married doesn't accomplish the goal that couples think that it will. A couple who does not live together prior to getting married has a 20 percent chance of being divorced within five years. If the couple has lived together beforehand, that number jumps to 49 percent.

Admittedly, that's a very random source, but I've heard it before, and didn't feel like spending any more time on it.

Interesting. I think it speaks more to the kind of people who are willing to wait for marriage before they move in together. They are likely more traditional and less likely to get divorced no matter what.

Yes and no. My divorce was the second ever in my family (including all 32 cousins). I was raised to stay, no matter what. It took me a looooooong time (16 years) to come to that decision, and it had to do with $250 "dinners" on our card when he was traveling on business.

On a happier note: PapaLew & I will celebrate our 20th anniversary in December. He is an amazing person, and I always look forward to coming home to him. :)

No-one would be safe with you two on the prowl!

I once had an internet friend ask me to see what I could find out about her from the wedding pictures she had posted online. She was trying to make sure she wasn't being too "out there".

Oh yeah, even though I already knew her real name from being FB friends, I got her wedding date, registry, job, fb page, papers she did......she was a little freaked out. Not at me, just at how easy it was to find stuff.

we should go into business together. I already work in Research and that's pretty much like the same thing.
