I wish I was joking.

that is terrible! Glad it's not worse and just the pinky. But yeesh. Do people not pay attention before they turn that stuff back on? Something very similar happened to the guy who used to combine our corn (this was at least 15 years ago). He was cleaning out the head and one of his guys was in the combine and turned it on to see if it was working. Lost his first three fingers.

tough luck, man.

My grandpa also lost his pinky, but in a grain elevator. He also lost the hand bone associated with it, so he used to tuck the pinky of his glove inside on that hand to account for the missing finger, and to take up the space in the glove for the missing hand bone. Made for a funny look when someone forgot a pair of gloves and had to borrow a pair...grandma would push the pinky back out, and you'd have this dirty old glove, with a pristinely clean pinky.

I lost my pinky finger this weekend. I was working on a baler and the dumb *** in the tractor decided to turn the PTO on to see if the baler was still working. Looks like it'll be easier to show nine with my hands now...

On a more positive note, you're lucky it was only one pinky.

I hope everything works out fine once you're fully healed again!

That's horrible. I hope the pain fades quickly.

Taking the shells off of hard boiled eggs requires way too much effort.

Don't put them in the water until it's boiling, then lower them in. When they're done boiling, drop them in ice water. Roll them gently on the countertop to fragment the shell but not the membrane. Shell will peel off easy-peasy. :)

It might have been some other HGTV show. They all kind of blend together.

Probably that rehab addict woman She's based in Minneapolis I believe. I think the Bath Crashers guy (Matt?) is in Minnesota as well. I've seen him do crashes in Iowa before (including ISU fans based on the stuff they had in their house).

Yes, I watch a lot of HGTV.

I had a boss that lost his index finger like that when he was a kid. Sorry about your loss man. Literally.

in a nice coincidence, my parents are buying a new mower and were looking for someone to give their 28-year old zero turn mower to. They need to drop $250 on some part, and that is literally the price to own it. Farm yard is too much for it to mow. I happen to know someone who didn't really want to drop $3k or so on a riding mower next summer.

So I'll just leave this here...

@UIowa_Police: Pro tip: when asking an Officer for directions, be sober enough to remember where you're going so you don't say you're going to "Rumchata"

You guys really, really, REALLY have to help me out and remind me that even though I live in paradise, I'm still a pasty white dude from the Midwest and if I ever plan on spending extended time out in the sun, I HAVE to put sunscreen on.
