so if you were going to be in Ames for a night and could eat somewhere.....where would you go? Old Main is an option but I can get pretty good pub type food in Madison.

When I went back last year for the first time in 5 years, i made a point to go back to Le's Vietnamese and wasn't disappointed.

A friend just called today and we haven't been able to talk much in the last eleven months, but one of the cool things she tells me is that her mom sent her daughter and mine a Hanbok (traditional Korean outfit). I don't know how fancy it might be, but I am really excited.

I've seen some that are extremely fancy that are exceptional. If it's for Z, I'm guessing ribbons and enough volume that you'll spend 30 minutes trying to find her in it

My daughter gets a new qi pao (the silk Chinese dresses) about once a year either from us or her grandma. It's pretty cool to have something that every other kid isn't wearing.

Friendly advice: keep Z away from Justice as long as you possibly can. That place is the devil

I'll find out soon. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the more everyday one though.

I've never been in that store so I looked. There is one at North Grand. I guess I'll just continue not going there.

One of my DILs is half Korean (her dad met her mom when he was stationed there), and has very strong ties to that side of her heritage. Her two daughters have some really beautiful embroidered & appliqued' dresses from their other grandmother. Cooler's right - until about the age of 2, there was often more fabric than child! ;)

My summary of the sports threads for the past few months:

"My pessimistic prediction is ......"
"Yeah, well my optimistic opinion is......"
"You're stupid because........"
"Yeah, well my (non-factual-based) opinion is better than your (non-factual-based) opinion"
<relevant post that goes unnoticed>
"Shut up Tuco"

This off-season has been brutal.

Kind of depressing how accurate that is!

Most of the people that reply to posts are just fishing for likes and have nothing worthwhile to say.
