busted my butt to get in by 8am for this call. After 20 minutes (I was asking another person about a separate issue or I would never have waited that long) I messaged the organizer hey, are we having this call?

oh yeah, it got moved to later this morning. And no, no notification went out.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Cool cool, I'm not going to bother joining. I'm busy then. I could rework my schedule but nah.

Too bad those people couldn't have a few of the little man's blowouts, right on their shirts.

Anyone got any good vacations coming up? Looking for inspiration

Not sure when your time frame is or what your preferred activities are, but I did a trip a year or two ago to Arches & Canyonlands NP and it was great. You could take a week, rent a jeep and hit the 5 NPs in Utah. Some amazing scenery out there, especially if you've never been. Probably not a good idea in the summer though.

This is pretty bad for a guy with a big road scooter. Get on your pony and ride, man.
I'd like to do something like this out to Niagara falls. My biggest problem is it almost impossible for me to go an entire weekend without dealing with work and it pisses me off if I take a week of vacation that I have to wait till Monday and be back by Friday.

We had friends that did a similar loop except they came back through Chicago instead of going up through Michigan. They said the Ontario lakeshore is spectacular.

I just want to see Niagara Falls again and see some more of Canada. The Winnipeg area is like North Dakota, just plain flat and boring. Plus I could stop in Madison for porn in the morn if it is a weekend

Can I stay at that old Frank Lloyd Wright hotel?

You can if you want to, heard it has tiny rooms and isn't that great; but you get to say you stayed at a FLW place. Its ok since it is in the commercial area. If you wonder about 4 blocks north or even to the bars just east and NE of it you better be feeling your oats.

Named for Daniel Greysolon, Sieur du Lhut. (they moved a couple letters around so it wouldn't be so hard to pronounce)

(No idea what the name means - I tried a French to English translation tool on Google and no soap.)

Means "of the hut". So it is either talking about Pizza or Jabba. I will let the Minny soda people answer that.

Lol nope but if I were planning....

I'd spend more time in the Scottish Highlands and do some of the little islands this time - Skye, Mull

Ireland
Italy
France
I've heard Croatia is stunning
The Azores
New Zealand
Tahiti or Bali
St. Lucia
African safari

US based:
National Parks
Hawaii again
Denver
multiple places in California
UP Michigan
Door County

Lots of those are on my list like the Azores, Croatia and New Zealand.

I would kill for a free week in order to take a vacation. I haven't taken a real road trip in about 4-5 years.

As someone else said Iceland is gorgeous. I think in the last few years they have been overwhelmed by the amount of tourists.

Yea iceland would be cool but I definitely wanna go in an off season like near New Years. I've heard the summers can get nuts lately.

I think I am going up there in the fall to do some hunting with my family or was it ice fishing? Well I'll figure it out.

Love Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks. I love Utah's scenery.

That's been redone and is really nice. Right in downtown MC it has it's own restaurant, and is with in walking distance of 2 micro breweries.

Edit: I'll defer to BC on the hotel, the lobby and public area looked really nice when I was there. No knowledge of the rooms.

I haven't been to Duluth in a looong time. Does Fitzger's (?) still serve those breaded pepper cheese burgers? I should try to get there this summer.

Anyone catching 'What We do in the Shadows?' the TV version?

So far interesting...don't think it's going to have the timing of the movie.

so update to attempting to photo the nut.

Today he went in an alternate outfit, pooped in the car - didn't leak at all. Of course. DH got him changed and then stayed to watch them do the photos. Apparently he was fine for a couple minutes but not smiling and when they tried to get him to look and smile, he sat there and cried. DH said not mad or frustrated, just sitting on his butt tears down his face crying, lol. So they said they'd try later and DH went to work. He did try holding him/distracting him first.
They get home tonight and I ask how it went. He said, welp, they tried again later but Nut was still having none of it so they gave us a voucher for a JC Penney photo session fee and 10x14 photo. I **** you not. Going to JCP to get a photo session done with this kid sounds like the least enjoyable way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I pay daycare the big bucks to do that for me :p
