He could have been asking you to go to a sewing party at 1 AM.

He might have done a better job than me. But my son didn't give me a lot of lead time on this pair of pants. And old eyes aren't so great in the middle of the night. But maybe better than young intoxicated ones.

My work switched to Time Warner earlier this year to avoid connection issues. It's been like booking a cruise on the Titanic because you don't feel safe on a smaller ship.

Well the buyers of our house did their inspection and have a couple thousand dollars in requests. Very nit picky stuff imo.

Ours did too. Our realtor recommended we knock off about 1500 and get them to sign agreeing to fix it themselves. We did, they did....and then 6 months after closing tried to get us to pay for something that they knew about and didn't fix. Yeah...not gonna happen. :)

Would bet they want cash or price reduction and then never do the repairs.

Yeah. We are already paying for a one year home warranty for them. It appears the water heater has started to rust and leak after sitting there unused. That I can understand. The electical box also has double tapped wires so they want that fixed. The garbage disposal had also apparently locked up and the fridge is supposedly leaking so they want those serviced along with the HVAC and sprinkler system.

We are going to discuss it with our realtor tonight so we will see how it all plays out.

I think I should call Martha and Torbian who i bought this place from decades ago and complain about everything that was wrong with the house!

Going to be interesting when we finally get around to selling my mom's house. I am going to be telling a lot of people "No, that's not a code issue or a safety issue. It's got a new furnace, A/C and roof. Take it or leave it, it's a buy as is. No, really, **** off!"

It always amuses me how some people just expect to get some crazy-*** deal just because they want one. It's even better when it's really obvious that they are bluffing and are really really bad at bluffing.

We did a garage sale a few years ago and I was selling this really nice tricycle for toddlers that we used maybe once. One guy came up and offered me 1/4 of what I was asking and I told him no. Then he tried adding $5 to it and I said no. He made a big production and loudly said "Well, I'm just going to leave then."

10 minutes later, he walks by (presumably checking to see if it sold)

30 minutes later he came back, picked up a few books, and said he'd add another $5 to his offer if I included these books. I took the books from him and told him to get off my property.

Two other people there actually started clapping. Apparently he'd been pulling the same crap at other garage sales, annoying everyone around him.

That was the last garage sale that I will likely ever have. When you sell a $10 item for $.50 and someone has the nerve to say "I'll give you a quarter" I'm much more inclined to break the item and throw it away in front of them than give some d-bag the satisfaction of saving a quarter.

We just had a combined garage sale with some friends for the city-wide garage sales a few weeks ago. The fact that it was at their house made me much more willing to negotiate. Every offer was weighed against having to load it back up in our car, take it home, and then either post it online and deal with that ****, load it back in the car to take to the consignment place, or load in the car to take to the dump.

Although, I don't think there were that many hagglers, other than for larger items.

The other solution, is use the 'outlet mall' mentality...I think a lot of garage salers are the same type. If you look at outlet mall stuff, it's got some ridiculous price on it, then it's 'marked down' to basically what it's worth. But these numbskulls that don't know better brag about 'how much money they saved'. Mark the price 10-20% higher than you think is fair, then just plan on haggling a little on everything.

In our town, people try to make money off of garage sales. They buy crap at someone else's sale and turn around and try to sell it for more at theirs. I think the same crap has just been cycling around town with no one ever using it.

had the interview today. Said they'd call Monday for possibly a 2nd interview with a different person at the company. Not sure how to take that. Hoping for the best I guess.

I wonder how much of this house stuff is the HGTV affect? I have a realtor friend that says that people seem to be more dissatisfied with things since a lot of the shows have aired..... like Property Brothers or some such.

oh you want granite, and a nice kitchen without doing it yourself? what a lazy generation I am in. We bought our house especially because the previous owners didn't try to update anything. Very thankful for this, they did an absolute dozy on our backyard #GoodGriefCharlieBrown
