Oh, but there is.
Couple dozen donuts at work...a couple of donuts with coconut on them in the mix. One, maybe two people that actually like coconut. The people that like coconut take non-coconut donuts at first, like everyone else. Later, when there are two lonely coconut donuts left in the box, the coconut lovers get an extra donut each. Happens EVERY time...I guarantee it. :)

Reporting back. It was okay.

Tastes like something old people would really enjoy. Kind of has a Werther's Taste to it.

That's just good strategy.

Somehow 2 coconut haters (and I mean HATE) produced one coconut lover. Two negatives make a positive? Just yesterday in the store she picked up a bag of shredded coconut and was like, "this looks soooo good!" Gross.

My parents (coconut & raisin lovers) produced three daughters, two of whom are also coconut & raisin lovers.

Me? I'm sixty, and I STILL pick all the raisins out of cinnamon buns and oatmeal cookies, and still refuse to eat anything with coconut in it, or use coconut body products (I can't even stand the smell).

Raisin cookies that look like chocolate chip cookies is the reason I have trust issues in just about every aspect of life.

I only really like coconut in granola. German Chocolate cake can be good, but it depends on how the person makes the filling/frosting. I've had both good and bad toppings.

Is it weird that Z's birthday is just a little over six months away and I kinda am wondering about what cake to get? I picked up a pricing list the other day. She doesn't even like sweet things except apples and grapes right now.

I blame myself for not doing the 1yr obligatory cake thing. bleh. :)

German Chocolate cake haters....you're dead to me. DEAD!

Unrelated note: So Thursday is one of my 2 days alone, so those days things need to get done so other days I can enjoy just being with my family. Sometimes, the timing isn't so good. In what was not one of my brightest moments, I washed the car this morning, it needed it so badly that actual salt crystals were beginning to form on the side body panels.

Yeah, don't do that, folks. Don't wash the car when it's -10, it's not smart. Car now running in the garage with a kerosene heater and a propane burner at full blast to try and get the door locks/seals to dry out before I have to go to work this afternoon...not looking forward to trying to get in it at midnight.

(garage door is open slightly, so no CO issues)

When they are old enough to pick their own, they pick their own. Before that, it is mom's choice. ;) If you are interested in a homemade cake let me know. We have the 2yr old's birthday in less than a week and I've done nothing. Not sure when/if we will do a party--March is always busy for my parents (and they are just getting home) and hubby's parents don't like to travel if the weather may be iffy. I attempted a confetti cake for her 1st birthday which was a huge faill (ended up just doing a plain white cake with pink frosting) so may try again with different sprinkles.

You could puree German chocolate cake and hook me up to an IV of it. That stuff is delicious.

I eat pretty much anything though. My parents beat that into me growing up and I'm passing it down to my daughter too.

Except beets......**** beets

Heh, I'm pretty much the same way as you. My oldest, when he was trying new foods would eat anything. I thought...okay...we'll see how far this goes...I'ma get some beets. He ate them like candy, all purple faced and purple fingered. I've actually warmed to them as well, if they're roasted well.

And, speaking of cake and beets...the original 'red velvet' cake:
