But how about your TPS reports?
He's probably still using the old format.
(full disclosure, I've never seen the movie, but I think that's a valid joke, if not, my apologies)

When everything is all said, done and calculated, I may have done the best in the entire company, but my boss will still find a way to ***** about it.
If you'd had heard our conversations, you'd think I was on the verge of being fired with how worried he always was. At one point I even had to tell him "you realize I see EVERYONE else's numbers and know where I stand, right?"
In general, I hate the whole formalized process of reviews, but understand what they're for, so I put as little effort into them as possible, with the exception of this one where I wanted to put down that one 'flop it down on the desk' paragraph. But I've had managers when I had a new role that wouldn't say anything about my weaknesses, even though I knew I had them, and I always thought...you know I don't trust anything you say because you won't be honest with me. I mean, I realize what reviews are for, especially in a large organization, so even if you don't want to list them in recorded form, at least talk to them. This one is easier because we have a long relationship and he did list a few things to improve upon (that are strictly related to my short-ish time in this present role), but more than that, I know where I stand with him because of the things he tells me that are not normal for that interaction.
So, young'uns...if your boss tells you secrets...you're in good, no matter what your review says.
I don't have flaws, but I understand what you mean and fully agree.
That's why so many people didn't like me at the start of the year here. One day in tax season is like a week in a regular business, so there's an urgency every day. If we had a good day, I'd let them know. If we had a bad day, I'd let them know. They were just so used to things being sugar coated in the past that they never had any idea of how poorly they were actually doing. Hopefully by the end of the year, with us having the best tax year in the history of the company in hawaii, they'll actually understand.
See I'd rather have my manager be honest with me instead of BSing me all the time. I've been in my role for 7 years. I know what the heck I'm doing and when I apply myself I'm pretty darn good at it. My issue is that I've been jerked around for so many years that I just really don't care that much any more. I am not motivated in the slightest. I had a manager who dangled a promotion in front of me for multiple years. Saying if this or that goes well he would see what he could do.
He didn't do ****. He just dangled the carrot and wanted me to work my butt off. I worked my tail off for a while in hopes I would get a promotion but it was given to a peer who I don't think was as good at her job as I am. I think she just kissed *** better than me.
It's been 3 years since he told me I was "up for that promotion" and I haven't gotten anywhere. I periodically work hard at my job when needed and take it easy when I want to.
Now my new manager (previous one was let go) wants me to be a go getter and give 110% and do everything by the book. I, as you can imagine, am not amused.
I really would like to get a new job, but I also hate searching for jobs and interviewing and trying to figure out what the best answer to some stupid interview question is.
So... I sit here going through the motions at my current job and less motivated than ever.
interest rate LOCKED.
Now I promise not to cry sad tears if something crazy happens and they are in the 2's by the end of the next 7 weeks. Whatevs, we are locking a solid six tenths lower than what we were going to be at last year. Budgeted out this house based on 4.5 because we figured it would start creeping back up at some point. Never thought this would happen so even if it drops a bit more, I won't be too sad.
Who did you finance through and did you do a 45 day lock?
Wow, I can't decide if some posters are idiots or just totally full of themselves. We all make bad posts - believe me, I know - but "my interpretation is clearly the only one that makes sense" after about 30 posters have posted perfectly plausible alternatives. Really?
This SOUNDS like something I'd say, but I don't recall doing so.
Boxster, what does one and a half and a lot of sweating get a person? I'm asking for a friend.

I'd err on the side of a new one, possibly just a slightly modified version of the first one. Just in case they kept your old one. I think you'll never really get penalized for putting in effort.I'm re-applying for job that I applied for last October, in which I interviewed, but did not get the job. I have a suspicion that I may been the 2nd or 3rd candidate for the position. The same job opened up again, and my question is should I send in the exact same cover letter or should I create a new cover letter?

This what I'm thinking as well.
Why is it that whenever I dog sit for my cousins, who don't have Internet, I'm always near my data limit on my phone? So it looks like limited CF time the next 5 days....
