Random Thoughts 17: Here we go again.

The Westin is a great place to stay, you're right down where the action is. If you choose to drive to the game I would suggest entering the parking lot from the south. Unfortunately it's a decent walk from there. You might want to look into an UBER to see if you can get dropped off closer. I do know last time getting an Uber after the game was difficult. I ended up taking some students back to their hotel because they couldn't even get connected to Uber.
That wasn't bad as their hotel was by the airport so I wasn't driving into downtown Memphis which was the exact opposite direction I needed to go.
The package includes a shuttle to the game and back, going early enough to go to the tailgate party, so we don't have to worry about parking at the game or pre- and post-game traffic. Unfortunately we WILL have to pay for valet parking at the hotel. :(

That's good. I stayed at the downtown Marriott back when they played Tulsa and just accepted the fact that valet parking is just a given.

Yeah. Any time you stay downtown, any where.

We ended up getting our money back once in New Orleans - the contracted valet people were REALLY slow at getting vehicles back to the hotel from the offsite lot where they were storing them. Up to an hour, more than once...even with calling ahead to let them know what time we'd be down there. We complained to the hotel, and the hotel took the money off our bill. I don't think that contractor worked for them much longer, because everyone was in the same boat. And it was hot and sticky, with no seating, so we're all standing out in front of this hotel waiting for our cars, sweating like crazy.

On of the things I really like about that video is the German person is speaking normally. A lot of times, those types of videos make the German one purposefully ugly so of course it’s going to sound ugly/guttural
Like the two videos I included...

But let's face it. German is NOT a romantic language. :D

Co-workers are dropping like flying with some sickness. I dont what it is but I just never get sick at all.

I didn't go in today, woke up with a sore throat, it's gone now but I'm starting to cough some. I thought about working, but I didn't want to make it worse, I need to be there Wednesday to set trusses.

Nice of @Volkswagonoilchange.net to email me that my IRS refund is processing! Twice. Man, I have been inundated with spam lately.

But are you also seeing ads from them here on CF? If not, I'd be suspicious.

anyone ever have their kid react to amoxicillin? baby Coach Hines got a reaction on the 10th day and is COVERED in hives. All over his body.

took to doctor and they said this too. Benedryl and oatmeal baths to help with relief but not much else we can do and we feel so bad for him and helpless!

If it's the 10th day you should be just about over it - the symptoms do fade after the course of meds is concerned.
Depending on the age of little Hines, you might want to consider putting gloves/mittens on him while he sleeps. They recommended that when my 2.5 yr old had chicken pox...kept him from scratching the pox & creating scabs & scars.

Typo alert - "concerned" SHOULD have been "completed".

Hoping it doesn’t last too long but he doesn’t seem to scratching all that much right now. Runs his head, that’s about it right now.

He’s almost 2 and shoots better free throws than our current mens bball team

Oh yeah, but I had that thought before seeing your videos, so you just provided an excellent example of it.

And lies, German used to be the language of poetry! It helps that they have single long words that cover very specific meanings...

I am just definitely biased, although I have heard French which sounds much "worse" than German

Son is "assumed to be allergic". He had a mild reaction (rash) but nobody was sure if it was the amoxicillin or his usual sensitive skin (very sensitive when he was young). Not a terrible reaction but in an abundance of caution he is labeled as allergic to it.

I almost posted some Marlene Dietrich songs but I thought it would probably be tilting at windmills.

I don't get how they keep getting away with this on Facebook feeds as these are 100% counterfeit. Big media outlets have reported on it and FB does nothing about it as they don't seem to monitor much.

Obviously they scam more at Christmas when peeps are buying stamps for cards. And I assume they are good enough fakes to work. I bought real stamps yesterday at UPS store for regular price.

Also a lot of fake accounts popping up. Got a email request from a friend the other day that I am already friends with. Checked profile and "new" Mory had only 3 or 4 friends and was obviously a fake mimink acct. Reported it and let friend know. I've done this like half a dozen times now. I am a admin on a couple of FB groups and we had to take the groups private because of the scam posting in the messages. I was like whack-a-mole with t-shirt scams, some even grabbing pics from the group and using them in their message along with fake comments from there other fake accounts. Had to be AI and bots as fast as they generated. It was actually quite impressive.
