Random Thoughts 17: Here we go again.

Brought in a package off my parent's front porch. It was in a clear bag. It was something off my list.
Had our company Christmas party last night. Went out for steak, I had a $50 filet and a smoked old fashioned, which they serve in a bottle filled with actual smoke, then you pour it in the glass, it wasn't bad.
Then went to a golf simulator. I've never picked up a golf club before, but I did alright. Then went to a bar with live music, it was classic rock/80s mix, but it was crowded, and then the music switched to a metal band and it was too loud so we went somewhere else.
I'm still kind of deaf. I got a pretty nice bonus and a bottle of Jameson black barrel too.

The care center that the MIL is in is having the residents Christmas party at noon on a Tuesday. Not the most convenient time for family members to make it. Guess it’s so the office people who help don’t have to work on a weekend day.
After having worked at a ICF/MR facility I’ve seen how much people can put into having someone they love be there. People who live in these centers don’t put their emotions and lives on hold during the weekends.

Well, I go back to work starting tomorrow. Of course I'll just be working from home most of the time.

We're doing the 3 night alumni package, so we'll be at the Westin Memphis Downtown. We're driving down, leaving early am on the 27th.
The Westin is a great place to stay, you're right down where the action is. If you choose to drive to the game I would suggest entering the parking lot from the south. Unfortunately it's a decent walk from there. You might want to look into an UBER to see if you can get dropped off closer. I do know last time getting an Uber after the game was difficult. I ended up taking some students back to their hotel because they couldn't even get connected to Uber.
That wasn't bad as their hotel was by the airport so I wasn't driving into downtown Memphis which was the exact opposite direction I needed to go.
