Random Thoughts 17: Here we go again.

I don't think I want to be in the same thread with you people. Son has surgery tomorrow and we absolutely can't have him coming down with something.
I think if we use a wireless mouse (no direct contact) we should be OK.

Got a message from my student employee this morning who was supposed to finish up today. Temp of 101.1 and lots of throwing up. At least she wasn't here yesterday.

We are out of town this Sunday during the WBB game time. We have two tickets for anyone who wants to go. No parking pass, sorry.

Went out to do a few landings and reset my night currency. Absolutely perfect, best landings of the year. Of course I was alone. Go figure I just need to be in darkness without seeing hardly anything to have a great landing.

I got my property tax bill. 22.7% higher than last year. I guess Omaha plans on taxing everyone out of their homes.

We think the town just north of us is trying to annex our area. They have been slowly moving south. We don't like the idea - it's not just having to pay city taxes, it's having to follow city rules, and pay into their infrastructure without benefiting from it (water, sewer, road maintenance). I'm just not real excited about subsidizing their infrastructure.

About ten years ago they wanted to put bike lanes on the 2 mile long county road from the town to the country club so that people could ride their bikes down to the golf course. I don't have an issue with that (in fact, they're on the road now). What I had an issue with is that our lane is accessed by that road, and they wanted all of the county people who lived within a mile of that road to pay extra for the road improvements...improvements that we neither asked for nor planned to use. No surprise, we all fought the levy. They found the money elsewhere.
We moved out to an acreage to get away from crap like that, but it still follows us!

Living alone and trying to figure out meals is honestly such a pain. I almost always end up having to throw stuff out. Like if I buy sandwich meat and don’t eat a sandwich for lunch next 3 days, I won’t finish it before it goes bad.

Sandwich meat goes bad in 3 days? I would find a different source for it.

I have spent the entire morning on various websites booking flights & hotels...I think I have everything taken care of through next August with the exception of taking the Butzbus and some friends down to Texas to watch the total eclipse in April, and I can't book the RV site until 1 Jan.

I AM DONE!!!

It's what freezers and freezer bags are for. I buy quite a bit of sliced turkey from the deli counter. It's usually more than I'll eat in a few days so after a few days I break out anything left and divide it into sammich** sized portions and freeze them They thaw out quick. Also buy some of the small hams already sliced up. They do keep a long time and also freeze/thaw well.

** I retired the term sandwich years ago thanks to @cowgirl836 posts here. ;)
