Well back from Montana, work trip with a little fun thrown in. The remodeled Mt. Rushmore is really well done so more people can go through it and still retained it's atmosphere. Saw some critters prairie dogs, Buffalo, antelope, deer, Turkeys, Coyotes but they were road killed. Wasn't impressed with Founding Fathers brewery in Custer wasn't that impressed with their beer enjoyed the food. (to be fair tried one wasn't my favorite though I usually do like that style, switched to water because wanted to drive to Mt. Rushmore for the lighting ceremony)

Belle Fourche S.D. is the geographic center of the U.S. plaque and everything to show you (technically 20 miles N on someone's ranch most likely)

Devil's tower pretty cool and not all that busy the day I was there. Nice hiking trails some paved some crush rocked.

Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument. It can't help but but be a somber experience IMO. They do a good job of explaining the Indian side of things nowdays. There is a neat monument that has been added for the Indians and their known killed warriors are marked with granite monuments compared to marble(?) for the cavalry.

The rockpile museum in Gillette Wyoming is ran by a guy from Ogden Iowa, nice guy (Hawk alum in History with a Masters(?) in museum curation maybe?) we actually have mutual acquaintance. Nice County museum. Also saw the coal mine overlook those trucks are HUGE.

The S.D. air and space museum is outdoors only at this time. The B29, B52, and B1B were my personal favorites.

The Meadowlark Brewery in Billing Mt makes some damn good beer went 3for3 there. Food is good also.

Evidently S.D. slopes W to E because running the cruise got me 5mpg better coming home at the same speed. Iowa needs to raise their 4 lane speed limits.. IMO. Montana is proud of their gas $4 to $4.45/gallon. The rest of it was under 3.85. It was a good trip.

Quad is feeling much better today after tweaking/pulling it covering a long run on Friday night. Only three games this week (two of which are MS). Family is coming watch me on Friday night though, might have to do my Hoculi party pump before going out.

Homeowners curse. Went into attic to check to see if roofers did indeed properly hook up the bathroom vents. All looked good at the vents. Not so good on rest of roof. Leaks....drip drip drip. Pretty big leak and that's only on the attic part I can see. Other roof sections are encapsulated in insulation and sheetrock (vault ceiling) and other area in attic just are not really accessible.

Well, saw something today that I hadn’t seen at a game before. For some reason I looked to my left at the same time this young woman with a crop topped sweatshirt raised her arms up to the people shooting Tshirts into the crowd. Let’s just say I can confirm she wasn’t wearing a bra. Not complaining, just a notice.
Yeah, we had a college aged girl show up at our tailgate several years ago that had on a T-shirt with the sleeves cut off and the arm holes cut down to her waist. She was leaving absolutely nothing to the imagination. Making me feel like a dirty old man looking at her, but that is a cross I had to bear.

Riding RAGBRAI into a very stiff headwind, down on my bars, I came up behind a very attractive person also down on her bars, and her very loose top allowed other anatomy to also be down and very visible. It was very inspirational, the only headwind I've ever enjoyed.

Good news to the bad news. Called roofing dudes and the crew boss of the crew that did my job was out in about an hour (raining so they are not working). Popped up into attic to show him the spot and measured the location. He climbed up on the roof in the rain and found damaged shingle, think it was a nailing error they should have silicone or replaced. He patched with silicone and a piece of ice guard. Will come back later to replace the shingle when it's drier. Glad he found a damaged piece, sometimes finding the leak is not easy.

Glad I decided on an attic climb, thought it would be a good time to look with the steady rain we are having.

Doctor said my skin graft was progressing right on schedule. He wants me to leave it uncovered now. I asked if I could wrap it at night and he said yes. It's really gross looking, as if I have some flesh eating bacteria.
Maybe things have to look bad before they get better. Hope the open air does some good.

Lew has a scar on his thigh from a skin graft to his ankle when he was a kid. It's a slightly rhomboid shape with defined edges. I'm the only one who ever sees it as he never wears shorts because of his ultra-fair skin on his legs.

Think of a positive, at least they didn't take the skin from your junk; otherwise every time an attractive woman walked by she would think you were sticking your tongue out at her.

Where is that "Why Are Farmers Never Happy?" thread again.
I'm with BC. We got over 5 1/3 inches from Friday to this morning which has to be more than we got from the start of summer to Friday. That is after an early spring that saw all sorts of flooding. It appears that the new norm is feast or famine.
