As a very young boy, my father used to go out and find the first bluebonnet of spring for his mother. Each time we went down for his birthday these last few years, we would stop along the way so I could pick a handful of bluebonnets for Daddy. I love them. I wish I could grow healthy ones here, but our winters are too cold, and we have too much shade on our land for the annual variety to take hold and really bloom.
