PSU Campbell Presser

Give it up. The Big 12 is mediocre in football. UCF.lol. Yeah they've been such a big addition to the conference. You know your conference isn't much if you're adding directional schools who played a division down not long ago.
Most Big 12 schools are operating at a major monetary disadvantage due to being geographically located outside of major population centers. Just look at the TV payouts per school per conference. However, many of our schools and programs are more competently managed and have been for some time.

There will be years (like Tech this year), where there is a contender from the Big 12 imo. However, yes, the monetary challenge is certainly a disadvantage.

Many people sell out for money (players and/or coaches). Some don't. Some schools could get a billionaire donor. Factors like this will impact who becomes a contender in the B12.

Texas Tech spent the 2nd most in NIL this year. So it’s no coincidence why they won the Big 12.

And yes, it is a billionaire former player and current Trustee. Cody Campbell

Okay archived where it can’t be seen to be technically, not deleted. Happy?

Check the transcript, he absolutely did slam JP at the end. The quote on 247 is exactly the same as the audio

“We didn't have an athletic director working with us. We had to build all those things from scratch.”

For those that would like to read it

It’s not a slam, but continue to look for stuff out of context.

Pennlive: Campbell also knew he reached his ceiling at Iowa State, going 72-55 in 10 seasons. The highlight of his run was the Cyclones’ 11-3 finish in 2024.

“Knowing what we’ve done (at ISU), I mean, the last three years at Iowa State have been the greatest three-year run in the history of the school,” Campbell said.

I don’t know what else we could have done there, and I’m really proud of what we did there.”

Campbell left because he'd "strained" to his limit. Hopefully Rogers can take the baton and get us over the line Campbell realized was beyond him.

Matt benefited from very easy schedules the last two years as well. It's silly not to act like that wasn't a big part of this "historic three year run" he's talking about.

As it seems, he will benefit again this next year.

However, there was a reason he wasn’t their first or second or third…..etc choice.

I believe Campbell was a decent coach, but I will be very pleased if Rogers outperforms him.

Much of Campbell's success at Iowa State was due to stronger support + easier schedule (but I think he attributes a significant amount of credit to himself).

Some day I hope we reach the point where he will return to the program similar to Mac has in recent years.
No statue. When this whole transfer thing is finished, let’s see how we feel about his claim of “leaving if better than you found it.” I was all in on “Build the statue” in every post and comment I made. Not today. Jack Trice died on the field (virtually); to put a Matt Campbell statue next to his seems disingenuous.

I’m proposing an end to the whole controversy of who gets into the CFP. Whether it’s 8 teams, 12 or 16, just take the teams with the highest TV revenue share + NIL spend. If you’re not in that group, you have no shot at winning it anyway.

Note: There is about 5% sarcasm in there.

I agree re: statue, not sure if this was meant for me. My point was that I hope he reconnects with the program later ala Johnny Majors, maybe a better comp.
