Listening to this is not fun, but man doesn't it make us sound like we are poverty program. Pate should never set foot back on the Ames campus
I’d rather be poor and not have a pedo history/culture than be rich and have one.

I still can't take it seriously. He was a guy about building a culture and embodied Iowa State - doing less with more and still winning. And now he's still a 'culture' guy at a school with a crazy amount of money and the history they had 15 yrs ago.To be honest listening to him keep talking about the tremendous culture at Penn St. got me a little nauseous.
It’s just the way it is, they have to immediately adopt the traditions and pretend they’re connected when obviously they aren’t. At least he didn’t go south and have to adopt an accent like Brian Kelly too.I still can't take it seriously. that place is a cult, cults are cringeThe Penn State social media posts of Campbell have been pretty cringe so far.
Well PSU isn't exactly the poster child for integrity and following the rules. Jerry Sandusky and Todd Hodne say hello. Also sounded like he was saying that Penn State started their funding in the AD while at ISU they had to start a collective. Wasn't starting the collective necessary because having the AD start it was expkicitly against the rules? Too bad ISU had to do things by the rules unlike the blue bloods.
All true, but list goes way beyond Ohio St.People need to realize that PSU has many more shiny objects then ISU:
-Larger alumni base
-Larger State population
-4-6 hour radius to probably 50% of the United States population
-Lots of Money/very large donor base
-Top facilities and continue to have to dump sizable money into renovations
-Athletic budget that is probably 3-4x's ISU budget
-Double the number of heads in the athletic dept
-A state that supports the university from $ standpoint
-Transportation for recruiting: multiple jets/helicopter
-Massive production team to create content
-The list goes on....
But they will always be little brother to the Buckeyes
Coach Matt Campbell seemed very uncomfortable to me. Just my impression.
Did they? They come across as a team that rules are not really rules. How far is Campbell willing to bend and break morality and ethics to get to the level PSU expects.Watched it last night, and the feeling I walked away with is that Penn State does not deserve Matt Campbell.
Their AD came off as a total buffoon. He essentially confirmed that they went after several guys before Campbell, but once he talked to Matt, he realized that Matt was the perfect fit all along.
Just sucks to see Matt go somewhere he's not fully appreciated, and it sucks to see Penn State fail into the right hire.
With ISU's resources, we live in a world with no margin for error. Whereas teams like Penn State can just blow money on massive buyouts and have endless lists of quality candidates waiting in the wings to take over. It's just isn't fair. But I guess that's the world we live in.
Is this based on 25 year old stuff or recent stuff?Did they? They come across as a team that rules are not really rules. How far is Campbell willing to bend and break morality and ethics to get to the level PSU expects.
Campbell rattled off names of Ped St greats like Jack Ham. Were all of the players he mentioned from at least 30 years ago?Is this based on 25 year old stuff or recent stuff?
Their heyday was as an independent.Campbell rattled off names of Ped St greats like Jack Ham. Were all of the players he mentioned from at least 30 years ago?
Don’t know if you watched the news the past 30 days but hardly anyone of quality wanted that job. Just one guy it seems. As luck would have it, he happened to coach for us.Watched it last night, and the feeling I walked away with is that Penn State does not deserve Matt Campbell.
