OMG... I didn't even notice that when I watched it... that's so bad. Who wrote that speech? You can't put the word "orifice" in any speech given anywhere on that campus... ever. Wait... was that AI??

Anyone else watch Josh Pate's interview with Matt by chance? Matt definitely throws JP under the bus in my opinion. Basically said one of the things he had to have at another school for him to go there was a place that would basically be progressive and creative in NIL.
Oh... and that the place he was going to had to have integrity..... Matt also mentioned how much he admired JoePa.... more
. I'm tired of his BS honestly... it's time to move on.
BingoI’d be very surprised if he’s there more than 4 years. Yes, he will have more resources but honestly a lot of the issues here were the details and stupid mistakes. Some questionable play calling too that has nothing to do with number of stars
Also, I think Campbell thought Candle might be chosen to replace him @ ISU. I do not think it is a coincidence that Candle was named HC @ UCONN the day after Rogers was named the ISU HC.The Big East went back to being a non-football conference.
UConn plays as an independent and will never, ever make a football playoff unless it joins a conference.
I don’t think Candle was even a thought for Jamie. He just is for some of our fans for some reason. Also, I think Campbell thought Candle might be chosen to replace him @ ISU. I do not think it is a coincidence that Candle was named HC @ UCONN the day after Rogers was named the ISU HC.

I read in an article that Campbell had 62 one score games while at ISU, so I looked up the seasons.
2016: 3-9 in 12 games, 1-4 in one score games
2017: 8-5 in 13 games, 3-4 in one score games
2018: 8-5 in 13 games, 3-2 in one score games
2019: 7-6 in 13 games, 2-4 in one score games
2020: 9-3 in 12 games, 4-2 in one score games
2021: 7-6 in 13 games, 2-5 in one score games
2022: 4-8 in 12 games, 1-6 in one score games
2023: 7-6 in 13 games, 2-3 in one score games
2024: 11-3 in 14 games, 5-1 in one score games
2025: 8-4 in 12 games, 5-3 in one score games
Total: 72-55 in 127 games, 28-34 in one score games. So, basically half (48.8%) of his games were one score games.
Side note: CMC went 50-40 in Big 12 games, having a winning conference record in 8 out of 10 years.
Rogers >>> CandleAlso, I think Campbell thought Candle might be chosen to replace him @ ISU. I do not think it is a coincidence that Candle was named HC @ UCONN the day after Rogers was named the ISU HC.
I've always thought that stat was a bit unfair to MC because we turned a lot of "blowout" type losses INTO one score games because we didn't give up and allow it to become a multiple score loss. I would bet a decent % of those one score game losses fit that category.@qwerty did the heavy lifting in another thread. 28-34 in one score games. Gotta figure that out if you’re going to beat OSU regularly like their fans expect.
3-6Campbell went 50-40 in B12, 3-7 against Iowa, won some bowl games, no scandals.
That'll be tough to top. But it can be done. Will be fun to see how Coach Rogers does.
I agree.Campbell seems so awkward. That "we are" reminded me of Altmans "whoa pig" and Duuuuuvvvaaaalll from the jags coach.
It'll be interesting to see him in this spotlight.
Yeah...Love Matt. Greatest coach in ISU history (and by far).
Should have had a CycloneFanatic watch party and created a "Hi Bob" type drinking game for every time Matt said:
- Process
- Best Version of Yourself
- Win in the Margins
- Attention to Details
- Craft
- Etc.
If only isucy86 had included "every orifice"...Yeah...
I agree, but I think Campbell thought Candle might be chosen.I don’t think Candle was even a thought for Jamie. He just is for some of our fans for some reason.
I like CMC. I appreciate the fact he actually cares about his players, as players and as young men. That's worth a lot to me. It wont mean jack to PSU people.Watching Matt's presser at Penn State.... I'm even more appreciative of having JP here. Matt's walking into a sh*t show at Penn State... yikes. That guy he's going to be working for is a CLOWN.
Expectations have already been put on Matt in this presser... gotta take PSU to a National Title. That's a lot for a guy who said winning isn't the most important thing. Good luck Matt!
Also... almost made me puke when Matt talked about the integrity that Penn State University stands for.
