I have seen quite a few players wearing #0 this year. I don’t ever remember players wearing #0 in football before. Was there a rules change this year that led to this?

Yes, new rule change for this year.I have seen quite a few players wearing #0 this year. I don’t ever remember players wearing #0 in football before. Was there a rules change this year that led to this?
Can't wear 00Yes, you can wear #0 or #00 now
Huh, could have sworn I've seen #00 this year, maybe it was an NFL game. Can't wear 00
It will come. I'm glad they have expanded even if it is only one number. It becomes pretty unmanageable when you have two and sometimes three players with the same number.0 is not a football number. I am glad no ISU player so far wears #0.

I thought that it was a Baylor thing - guys need to earn the right to wear single digit jerseys and they need to perform to keep them.I was reading an article last week about the two Baylor RBs that opted out this season. It talked about them bot hbeing "single digit jersey" guys. Is that a status thing with players?
It has to do with the pride of being able to put their IQ’s on their jerseys.I thought that it was a Baylor thing - guys need to earn the right to wear single digit jerseys and they need to perform to keep them.
EDIT: I found an article on it:
