I have seen quite a few players wearing #0 this year. I don’t ever remember players wearing #0 in football before. Was there a rules change this year that led to this?

As others have posted yes, there's been a rule change.
Rule 1, Section 4, Article 2(a): All players shall be numbered 0 through 99. Any number preceded by the digit zero such as “07” or “00” is illegal.

Huh, could have sworn I've seen #00 this year, maybe it was an NFL game.
Edit: Nevermind it was the NBA.
0 is not a football number. I am glad no ISU player so far wears #0.
It will come. I'm glad they have expanded even if it is only one number. It becomes pretty unmanageable when you have two and sometimes three players with the same number.
Thankfully, that's gone by the wayside as part of the rule change.
I was reading an article last week about the two Baylor RBs that opted out this season. It talked about them bot hbeing "single digit jersey" guys. Is that a status thing with players?
I thought that it was a Baylor thing - guys need to earn the right to wear single digit jerseys and they need to perform to keep them.

it’s a Baylor thing. ISU people really don’t have a basis for understanding.
