But what about the format and the championship qualification formula? That’s all that really matters.
It’s gonna be a 16 team bracket for us so it’s gonna have a set path to the championship.

Its 37 games total across the two weeks so its just the championship game teams that get a 4th game
Technically the only thing confirmed so far is that the weeks will be bracketed. But the 37 game theory means there will have to be an extra game in there for two teams.
I absolutely hate that 5 of the 16 teams are from the Big 12! Might as well just play a mid-season conference tournament.

I think the biggest thing for viability was hooking up with ESPN Events to run it. Good on the original organizers for knowing what they didn't know.
The long term sustainability of this event will still be in question if their payouts continue to be delayed as was reported
Also, we’re seeing more teams enjoying the control of building their own non-con schedule without MTEs
