My complaints aside (which are many) this is excellent exposure for the program. Especially to shrug off the defense only reputation. Showing up and lighting up the scoreboard has to be worth something in recruits' eyes.

You're in the minority judging from the comments in here and social media last night.
It is what it is, but getting to compete against Michigan, Tennessee, or Gonzaga would have been alot more fun than beating up on some lower tier ACC team. That's just my opinion.
If we had Tamin, I might agree. But once he went down, getting out of town 3-0 is a great result. Syracuse is still a great "name" to be whipping up on. Losing to Tennessee or getting boat raced by Gonzaga without Tamin would in no way be a better result.
Definitely getting some press for how screwed we got lol.
I was messaged by a media member, that wrote an article about it being pods. He said the media releases and info they all were given coming into the game said it was pod vs pod, not the overall like did. He said sometime after the first games they changed the rules and how it was going to be decided.

After promising to stick to the current format, Players Era Festival CEO Seth Berger told ESPN that the event will consider a new one when next year's field expands to 32 teams.
Iowa State did not get the opportunity to earn additional NIL compensation despite an undefeated record and the best collection of wins in the field.

I swear as the night went on last night the rules for the rankings were changing. Proportional to how many people were complaining on the internet.
The athletic department should complain and ask for the 3rd place money. Stupid ass format.
I'm 99.9% sure they comped the week for the right national media members (Goodman, Tipton, Sweeney and probably others) to get great press and buzz while not actually paying them so they could avoid saying they'd been 'paid'.

There have been games like the Bill Snyder "farewell" debacle. All the KU basketball games where one could swear the fix was in i.e. "phantom three". Well, with tournaments like this one no longer has to guess. When you have a name......the rules get bent for you. This tourney is exhibit A. Let's just hope crap like this doesn't somehow continue.
