Players Era

To me this is nothing more than a chance at some Q1 games. The whole format of this "tournament" is laughable.

So we beat the 2 best teams in the Big East and that's still not good enough to be in the top 4? This whole thing sounds like a con job, which is not surprising given its in Vegas.

Seems by the matchups that the tournament knew who they wanted in the championship games and got that to work out for them.

Hiring Pearl's failson isn't going to work out well for Auburn

I'm not saying they look like CSP's teams looked at times...but they look like CSP's teams looked at times.

And getting his comments earlier saying something like 'they're (Michigan) playing well, we just gotta keep fighting' was super familiar too.

Yeah, that's what Im thinking is going on. They promise this extra million or whatever for winning it but behind the scenes they have already pre-determined who even gets a chance to play in it.

There's no way in a million years Kansas should be in the top 4 just based on their competition compared to ours. We just beat a 1 or 2 seed Big East champions and Creighton who is an Ncaa tournament team by 18.

My prediction is there are going to be some very confused and upset people in a few hours when the matchups are announced and the Championship and 3rd place matchups are by pods. There is no way with the NIL money component each school didn’t agree to something in writing before the tournament that included format etc. And any article before the tournament that included an explanation of the format and tiebreakers had the first and second place team in each pod playing in those games.

I don't think Creighton is a top 2 BE team.
UConn is clearly better.

I don't think having one pod of 8 and the other pod of 10 would be fair.

If the Gonzaga game is close, I think we will play Kansas for 3rd. If not, then probably Auburn or Alabama.

This is what is so confusing. The tournament director should be on the phone with the TV producers or on twitter explaining the format to the fans. The silence is making this into a joke of a tournament.

In a way they are by pods. Two different buildings/fields(pods), five 2-0 teams. Would have made more sense to have two less teams, and the only four undefeated teams in the 1vs2 and 3vs4 even with the weird point differential being the deciding factor.
