Yes but it's far better with ice cream rather than cool whip

The ones I'm familiar with use maple syrup. Not brown sugar or corn syrup.

And I also never tried it until later in life. It was my Dad's favorite. I was always going for the ones I KNEW I liked rather than try a piece of something I may or may not like.

It's good but like others have said, too sweet. Need a good glass of milk afterwards to offset that sweetness. Or probably coffee if that's your thing (not mine).
I have thrown some molasses in with the other types of sugar before but not maple syrup.

Most pecan pies I've been served seem like 90% sugar!

You guys lack creativity.

Pecan pie sucks. Make a Derby pie instead.
Apple pie? Try a Spiced Apple Pear pie
Maple bourbon peach pie
Blueberry lemon basil pie
Swirl some Nutella and peanut butter in your next pumpkin pie, you’ll thank me later.
Do a blackberry and raspberry pie sometime

The only pie that is perfect on its own is Key Lime pie

Oh and if you put so much whip cream on your pie, you’re a child.

Well that sounds awful.

I notice that several have asked about the proper pronunciation of the word Pecan. I've lived in TX all my life and of course there are many Pecan orchards down here. I have 4 huge Pecan trees in my yard. It seems that when you get past the northern borders of Oklahoma and Arkansas that it is pronounced pee-can. But down here we say pi-kahn. Just setting the record straight.
