Butter and powder sugar on french toast is outstanding IMO.

I prefer waffles to pancakes but as others have said dealing with the waffle maker can be a pain.
If you’ve ever watched the movie Road trip, you know how restaurants put powdered sugar on their French toast

If your waffles take longer to get soggy, you aren’t making your cakes right.
Anyone ever have pancakes at the old Grove Cafe in downtown Ames? You could pour a whole pitcher of syrup on them and they would just keep soaking it up.

A good waffle doesn't even need syrup.

For me
French toast>Crepes>waffle>pancakes but that's being extremely pedantic as I like them all.

For years I would, on his birthday, make my son the dad special - a pancake topped with a waffle topped with French toast, strawberries, and maple syrup. The kid wanted the whole Magilla.

A couple years ago, ImJustKCClone posted her family recipe for French toast. I eat a lot more of that ever since she shared. It's basically deep fried breaded French toast. Guaranteed to add years to your life!

Google "Jackie Kennedy waffle recipe." That makes a really tasty, fluffy waffle. A bit more work than just using a mix from a box. But oh so worth it!
