OU vs WVU cancelled - officially

The skeptic in me says that this is just an excuse so OU don't have to travel to Morgantown this weekend.

The release only mentioned West Virginia is shutting down operation, but don't mention number of positive cases for WVU.

Thought the same thing. But maybe this is better so OU can avoid getting it and be ready to go to get their ass handed to them on the 19th.

What happens if we get a rash of COvid cases on the team and have to cancel the B12 ship? Auto win?

Eh- we crushed West Virginia's spirits anyways. I'm sure our team will be fine. We've maintained the bubble all season. Hard to imagine them stumbling so close to the finish line with the best season in history at stake.

I’m old enough to just be content with the title this year without the CCG. If we were tied for first rather than in sole ownership of it, I’d feel different but we play a round robin so there is no argument about legitimacy. Sure, it may take our playoff hopes from 2% to 0, but I’ll take that hit for a more manageable Fiesta Bowl.
I would rather have a different bowl than Fiesta since they don’t have fans. Fiesta before Alamo but would prefer a different NY6

How convenient for OU!

WVU getting back at us for leaving our starters in longer than their fans thought we should?

I hope we don't get a lot of cases pop up in yesterday's test or the Friday test from playing WVU last week.

We need to play the CCG to not back into anything, and the conference needs the money from playing the game.

We've done pretty well against teams who have 2 weeks to prepare... TCU/K-State/Tx/WVU.

Okie St had 3 weeks to prepare so I don't count them.

Funny how WVU article was freaking out because OU was out of control with Covid and now they are the reason for the cancellation. Probably works well for both teams. OU can avoid a loss and injuries and WVU can end with a winning record.

The Big 12 "championship game" is a sham to begin with.

With it's round robin schedule, the Big 12's true champion is determined by the NINETY regular season conference games, not the final exhibition game that was created for two reasons, to satisfy the hypocritical selection committee that says the Big 12 "needs another data point", and to make even more money.
why you count TX vs ISU twice?

Wonder if the OU doctor$ were involved? They want the extra week to prep for us.
