That was the information that I had when I started the thread. It was from a WVU fan site, and the article has been removed since then, but it was reporting 24 cases at OU, so either there is some stuff going on at OU also, or the writer was FOS.
I'm guessing the latter. :D It IS WVU, after all...

10 teams x 9 conference games each = 90
Let me help you here if someone hasn't already. There are 2 teams playing in each of those games. So while every team plays nine conference games, there are only 9x10/2 games. 45 if all were played. It will end up being more like 43 with the latest cnx.

I wonder if they would have let ISU in the title game if we had only played 8 games.

Good thing we're 8-1 and don't have to find out.

Yes they worked this out before the season. You only had to be within I believe 1 game of the average number of games played big 12 teams.

Not exactly sure.
10 teams x 9 conference games each = 90
You serious clark?

Are we talking scrimmages? You understand that for every win listed there is a corresponding loss also. There are 9 weeks of games. You take the ten teams and put 2 teams in each game, that makes 5 games a week. 5X9=45

I think the NY6 bowls and playoffs happen but most others get canceled. That’s been my expectation for months and why I’d rather not play the CCG and not risk the Cotton or Fiesta being canceled or missing key players.

I didn't read this whole thread but the conference championship game so often works against the interests of the best B12 team. It's nothing but a money grab.

To my mind, ISU is the conference champion. Just like basketball's post-season's B12 Tournament doesn't mean squat. It's who won the regular season round-robin that is B12 champion.

So, it will be a damn shame for ISU if they now lose to OU and get the well-earned championship taken away. This has happened too many times in the past including to K-State (both ways).

I like both the tournament and championship as long as you have a separate trophy for the regular season winner. The regular season winner proved themselves but the championship or tournament winner is great too. The latter is more fun to win. The former is more of an accomplishment.

You'll find it not much fun losing to OU and seeing them declared B12 champions, should that be the outcome.

In '98, K-State was undefeated and #1 in the country, until Stoops went to OU and took half the K-State staff with him.

Shortly thereafter, K-State was upset by aTm in the conference championship game and lost a chance at the national championship won by Tennessee. The next year K-State boat-raced UT in the Cotton Bowl.

Nebraska fans can tell a similar story after losing to Texas.
