OU vs WVU cancelled - officially

I was looking forward to OU taking a long trip out east, playing a physical game against an opponent in their home finale coming off an embarrasing loss with something to prove. OU would likely still win, but be beat up by the game and travel. Personally, I don't need OU at their best in order to feel good about ISU winning a conference championship. :)

The Big 12 "championship game" is a sham to begin with.

With it's round robin schedule, the Big 12's true champion is determined by the NINETY regular season conference games, not the final exhibition game that was created for two reasons, to satisfy the hypocritical selection committee that says the Big 12 "needs another data point", and to make even more money.
I would like this a million times if possible

Never have liked a post-season "championship" game in the Big12. Everyone already plays each other. It comes down to having to defeat a team twice. That said, let's go beat OU twice. Just win, baby!

So, if we can’t play, we win? Sounds like a big ten type deal.

That's how I take it. Besides money, there's no reason to throw a random team in there that's not P1 or P2. ISU already has 10 data points, double what OSU has. Throwing Texas or the Pokes in as a replacement is pointless.

If the game isn't played, ISU is P1. We wouldn't jump A&M, could pass Florida if they get rocked by Bama, may get passed by Cincy if they have a good win, and won't be passed by UGA or Miami.

Geez OU, this is not the time to be dealing with outbreaks.
Actually, its the perfect time if we want to play that game. Those players will be out 10 days, just in time for everyone to come back for our game but miss the practices leading up to the game.

If that game gets cancelled, we'd we the conference champions outright due to the standings and guaranteed a NY6 bowl.

Once the game is cancelled, they will discover "false positives" and contract tracing that turns out to be unnecessary.

No one will miss any practices LOL.

It’d be a shame if OU were to get hit super hard this week and would have to forfeit the big 12 championship.

Dang, was wanting OU to at least have to travel and possibly get banged up (not injured) a little bit.

I’m old enough to just be content with the title this year without the CCG. If we were tied for first rather than in sole ownership of it, I’d feel different but we play a round robin so there is no argument about legitimacy. Sure, it may take our playoff hopes from 2% to 0, but I’ll take that hit for a more manageable Fiesta Bowl.

I want a fully healthy ISU and a fully healthy OU to play each other. Both teams have gotten better and while I feel like OU has more talent, I think it could be a classic.
