OT: Ames bars for fun this Friday

That place is still around? I thought for sure it would fold in its first year.

I'm guessing it's still in business solely from the fact that people run down there quick while waiting in line for Paddy's.

Is Charlie Yokes still around? That wasn't a bad bar when it was in the old People's location. When they had to move due to the Kingland construction, I didn't think it was nearly as great.

From what I remember hearing is that once it had to move out of the old People's location it fell flat on its face. The new location (old Capones I think?) just wasnt the same. Google maps has it permanently closed.

New location for Yoke's was awful compared to the corner where Headliners (and People's?) was. Now that corner is gonna be a CVS which is nice and all but a big *** bar would be good there.

My daughter at ISU is 21 now. So while we were back for the Longhorn game we all went bar-crawling. So disappointing. I hadn't been in the bars in Campustown in YEARS, and now I feel so badly for current ISU students.

Sips is where the old Cave used to be. It is an absolute sh!thole. Upstairs from Sips is Paddy's, which is only slightly better than Sips.

Cy's Roost and Lost & Found used to be a solid set of bars. It's now just Cy's and it is a sh!thole.

Anybody remember Beemers and Fieldhouse? It's now one bar called Outlaws. All country. All suck, all the time.

EsTas is nasty.

AJ's is barely average.

Just horribly disappointing.
