Only one stop there in the 1980s, during a camping excursion in Canada. Friends & I drove to another friend's p in Fargo, we drove up from there. A memorable trip, still.
I know this is about Lodi California. Which I've never actually been to. But I have been to Lodi WI, so I'm counting it. (The song never specifically SAYS it's about the one in California, so I'm giving myself a pass.) Plus, it's a great song.
@pourcyne Your quite the world traveler. Only out of country I've been is Mexico and I was barely there as I was in Mission Texas where my grandparents would winter which right next to Mexico border.
Went there on a church bus trip in 1972. First real trip away from Iowa excluding border cities/regions.
Went to Dealey Plaza and the Dallas Book Depository. Very moving for a 16 year old kid.
Was in St. Thomas for a day stop on a Caribbean Cruise. Looked for Creeque Alley but never found it. But it does mention several places I've been like LA, New York and "The Turnpike" which is probably the NJ Turnpike.
My first work trip was to Boston. Only reason I got to go was because one of the big shots had to cancel and they'd already paid for the seminar. Van ride to the airport was running late and barely made the return flight connecting to O'Hare. Since they'd given up my seat I got bumped to First Class. The one and only time in my life I've had that experience. And I was too young to understand the full impact and what options I could have enjoyed.
