On That Note: (Don't) Touch That Dial

I know it's wrong to speak ill of the dead, but The Carpenters always made me run for the Pepto.

Head East's "Never Been Any Reason"

This was played at nearly every house party during my ISU years/ It's not a bad tone, but overused.

I hesitated to go find this song on you tube for fear it would result in an ear worm. It exemplifies just about everything I dislike about late 70's/80's pop/rock (sorry, to all those who came of age in that era): pedantic keyboards, pretentious guitar riffs and vocals. Little in the way of creativity. It sounds like a series of hooks designed to be played endlessly on the radio. And to my regret, they succeeded.

I refuse to listen to this song. Saw them with Journey a couple of years and when they played it, I left to go to the bathroom and get a beer. I'm a tad superstitious and I've had some bad things happen when this song was on the radio or TV in my earlier years. Felt like I was cursed so I everytime I start to hear it, I immediately turn to another station.
