Oklahoma vs Florida twitter

He's a doosh. You weren't out of line.

This. When people are ******** and you write it off as "Oh, that's just Rickie being Rickie" or something it just enables them. Like the guy EVERYONE at work hates and is a complete **** but a couple bosses seem to think he's "okay". Of course it doesn't work that well on Twitter and all since it gives these guys attention.

“Good” idea? That would be the dumbest thing ever.

Entirely aside from the simple fact that the kids sitting out are doing it to protect an NFL paycheck in the first place.

Should edit that to 'idea'.

Hmmm. Says who? Their yet-to-be-named agents? Again, 'insurance' policy. Also, following that logic, after they get their multimillion dollar contract what's to say they don't try as hard now that they're in the pros? Trust me, there'll be a ripple effect of waning viewership which the media conglomerates will try to reign in. And, on the expanding the playoff scenario, that'll kill the bowls, screw other schools for extended practices, and cost the collegiate scene a lot more than the revenue generated from the playoffs. I know (and I may be in the minority) I have little interest in the playoffs because they're (for the most part) rinse and repeat. Especially, when you see the crap the B1G pulled to get tOSU in.

@isufbcurt How is that dumb? The 4 team playoff has rendered every other bowl irrelevant. It has basically made the regular season irrelevant for 95% of teams playing.

Does anyone remember that K-State played in an Alamo Bowl? Does anyone care? Bowls are great for the teams that get to play in them, but they are an afterthought for most fans who watch because they are home for the holidays.

People are taking off work to watch the NCAA tournament. Nobody took the day off to watch the Duke's Mayonnaise Bowl. (Which was an awesome game to watch, btw)

I'm old school. The taunting like Rattler doing the Gator chomp and all that crap is classless. Respect your competitors, win with humility. I'm all for confidence; hate the arrogance.

We will disagree on that. I like letting the opponent know when I'm curb stomping someone.

You know what I think is bad though, late in the game Florida is down 42 and the FL QB has a long run for a first down and the QB does the first down signal. Sit your ass down boy, you are down by 42 no one cares about a first down.

At this point, if your bowl isn't a CFP game it is like some low-level bowl in Shreveport. That's the problem.

Face it, ISU fans and maybe some Oregon fans are the only people who care about the Fiesta Bowl this year. I don'y really even care about the CFP this year. I will watch, but I watch any bowl game.

I understand with the playoffs now that bowl games really don't have that "hey we did it" bravado they use to. With that said......if you think you are too good for what is being offered.....refuse. You could always stay at home and just tell everyone how good you are. Isn't that basically what the Big Ten did this year?

What I fear is this "it's just not worth it" or "who cares" attitude will just get worse. The KU's of the world will just end their season after 2 or 3 games when they realize they might not win a game. Or worse yet....the Florida's of the world when they realize they aren't making the big show will shut down after 7 or 8 games. I mean, what's the point, right? I guess what might stop them is the threat of not receiving any money from conference revenues. Even then, if a star player no longer wants to give it his all on a team with no chance of making the big show, or any show at all.....what do you do.....arrest him? It won't be long some of these teams may actually be rolling out their JV squads to finish the season if the "who cares" attitude keeps up.

It's dumb because it's your opinion. Just because some guys opt out and coaches make weak ass excuses doesn't minimize the bowl. I guarantee 90% of the guys playing in bowl games don't think they are irrelevant.

I also, don't think you can compare basketball and football because they are 2 completely different animals.

Did you watch Oklahoma's celebration after the game? Didn't look like an irrelevant win to me. Hell, even Wisconsin was having a blast after winning the Duke's Mayo Bowl. These games matter to these kids. And judging by bowl attendance in a year where you can have fans, they matter to the fans as well.

Teams can end their season with varying levels of success. Sure, everyone's goal is to win the Natty. But acting like a season capped off with a Fiesta Bowl/Cotton Bowl/etc. title is irrelevant is silly.

I was talking about the general college football fan. Of course it's important to the players and coaches and any of them who tell you it isn't are full of ****.

These are players and coaches at the highest level and they always care. ****, they care in practice.

meh...you don't know what kind of chriping was being done on the field...may have been well deserved.

I'll tell you one thing. When an opposing player helps you off the ground and pats you on the helmet for a good play, THAT is something which makes me feel good and doesn't embarrass anyone. But taunting is such a classless thing. Furthermore, I'd hate for any children to be getting the idea this is the way to play sports. I'll side with good sportsmanship any day.

Irrelevant to most fans not of those schools was what I meant.
