ok it's time

It's not "time," it's just a dream. The only conferences worth going to are the ones who have no incentive to take us.

I do hope, at the least, as our GOR gets close to expiring, that we at least try to convince the B1G to take us. Because the Big 12 isn't going to last another round. Our best shot of getting out is to start the process, not to sit around and wait for others to jump ship and leave us in the cold.

Terrible odds either way, but I'm convinced ISU's only chance of survival in the Power 5 is a concerted, proactive attempt to leave the Big 12. Perhaps we could convince Kansas and Kansas State to join us as a joint package--an all or nothing offer.

This is looking ahead to 2024. The power football holds could show signs of decline by then. Because I feel not only are we in a bit of a football "bubble," but the sport longterm may be doomed. Younger generations care about it less, kids are starting to play later for fear of injury, high school kids are dying on the field from hits and the concussion research appears more and more damning. We need to invest in all sports (especially basketball) and position ourselves for a future that may see more revenue splitting off to other sports, or even evaporate in general.

Lol...I can't decide if this is the best or worst thread ever, but it is epic for sure.

We won't be a 10 team league for long.

We either are going to need to expand or get smaller.

The B12 needs to get with the program and get Jerry Jones bigger. We need more fodder in the league like UCF and BYU. Lakes even offered up NDSU and the oil fields.

Sadly, I think you mean we would be more fodder, even for the new teams. UCF and BYU could definitely beat us.

4 pages and this has not turned into a spiderman thread? So disappointed...

I could care less if we go to the MAC. Those teams at least can get to a bowl game. I have been an ISU fan for some time and would enjoy seeing the team succeed on occasion. Forget the money, we have all the facilities and money we need. If we need to cut womens diving team, so be it.

Does CF have a Hall of Fame? Because we have the worst post in a horrible thread right here. This has to be considered HOF material

You do know that there are MAC teams that don't go to bowls right? I'm looking at Buffalo right now, who has sometihng like 1 bowl appearance and has been playing football since the 1800s

My advice, keep our heads down in the Big 12...keep grinding and stay with the big boys.

He's not correcting the guy's grammar.

That chart is also logically false. "I couldn't care less" does not necessarily mean zero care and it does not mean exclusively zero care. It only means the person can't care less than they do at the present time. You could correctly say "I couldn't care less" about a topic that you are extremely passionate about if you don't feel you could care less about that topic than you do right now.

The chart should really be this:

I Could Care less - Infinite to a Little
I Couldn't Care Less - Infinite to Zero
I Don't Care - Zero

Lesson: If you want to express that you have zero care about a topic, say you don't care. If you want to use an inexact expression which doesn't really have an exact meaning to express frustration, use either of the other two. If you want to be an expression Nazi, try picking on better ones like "toe/tow the line" or "taken for granted/granite" rather than trying to tell people how they should express the way they feel about something.

I hear the Big East is looking for schools. And just a reminder that the fans of the teams in the bottom half of EVERY conference think that there is a giant conspiracy afloat to help out the teams at the top of the conference. This isn't exclusive to the Big 12 and ISU. If ISU moved to the Big Ten they'd just feel that the Big Ten was favoring Ohio State and screwing the little guys.

Spoken like KU matters. Lol. I guess it could be worse if I were KU football I'd be looking to drop down to FCS and praying they don't stick me in the MVC.
