this gives them a run for their money as far as I am concerned.
I don't mind KSU's lavendar-eyesore throwbacks. I associate it with early memories of following BIg 8 — first that comes to mind is Rolando Blackman period.
My favorite KState uniforms were when the trainer forgot the jersey tops. They wore their standard shorts and had T Galaxy print up emergency tank tops.
Something similar happened at Iowa State in early '80s, I think maybe '80-'81(?). It was before I was in college, so I only remember reading about it after the fact.
For anyone who remembers this, correct any incorrect details: From my recollection, supposedly there was some arrangement that when a Big 8 game was played on a specific day of the week, the home team wore it's road uniforms and vice-versa.
ISU was playing Nebraska at Hilton and was dressed in Cardinal. I think captains from each team noticed NU also was wearing its red. So a team manager had to scramble to go get white jerseys but didn't get full uniform, so the players just changed tops, and we in white-on-cardinal. Delayed start time of game like 40 minutes.
I didn't just dream that, did I?
One thing basketball has been missing... Guys dressed like they know how to make killer balloon animals.
