***Official USMNT Thread***

Watching the US vs just about any European squad and the top half of South American teams is depressing. Even though we have some good players, the disparity in quality is startling. Could the US beat any of the 24 Euros teams? Maybe Albania? Yikes. I think you probably need a new coach, but I'm not sure how much it matters.

I don’t know soccer well enough to know about the coaching but I still hold that until MLS is blown up American soccer will continue to struggle. That as well as the youth soccer set up just are fundamentally crap

I also wonder who the leaders of this team are. Past teams you could point to Tim Howard, Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey, Brian McBride, Michael Bradley, etc.

I’m curious to know more about these two points.

There is such a clear difference in the skill between USA and most of the European teams. Just giving the ball away on bad touches and sloppy passes.
I’m not a soccer guy but watched tonight since nothing else was on. Like you and others have said, I couldn’t believe how bad we were at the most basic things. The first 20ish minutes were fun and then after that I’m not sure the US ever had the ball for more than a few touches. Constant turning the ball over with a ton of them being fairly unforced

These player interviews are cringe.

Very telling. No passion and totally unaffected by this result. Bunch of guys that have spent the last 6 years hearing how awesome they aren’t only to not even come close to living up to it. Llalas said it best— most talent team but far from the best USMNT. Just no passion.
